This is actually a pretty cool idea. I didn't even know they were cooking this up BUT apparently there's several videos on youtube showing it off. I'm definitely going to be using this this summer on my HDS7.

Are there any other finders that have this on their downscan? I can't think of any.

I'm going to download it for my 2 carbons this weekend I hope.  I am not aware of anyone else doing it yet.  I could be wrong.  It definitely is a cool idea.  So is their High Def color schemes.

I'd guess that means hummingbird & garmin will be copying them soon.

I did the download this am.  Anxious to get on the water and check the improvements.

I downloaded it to my carbon on Wednesday I really like the new look but beware I lost my water temp reading gonna be calling them about this this afternoon let me know if anyone else experiences this

This is pretty cool! Soon you will be able to mark bass as one color, baitfish as another, etc... :jaw-drop:

Did you do a hard reset after the update?

I've had my water temperature start reading -- on my HDS7 on occasion. I found the fix is to remove it from the overlay, then re-add it. Then the temp starts working again. One of the little quirks.

You should always do a hard reset after updates.

BE SURE TO SAVE YOUR WAYPOINTS ROUTES AND TRAILS BEFORE DOING THE HARD RESET.

I don't know the keystrokes for sure but you can find them out at the Lowrance website.  I don't seem to have lost anything on my Gen 3 units.

It actually says water temp but just doesn't give a digital readout of the temp I removed it from overlay and added it back still doing the same fished for 4 hours never got a reading

Pretty cool tech.

It'll be interesting if there's a way to tie up a patent.

I had trouble getting my temp to work also, had to remove and  reselect the source twice  but it finally started working again. I think the update is just a 2d overlay on the downscan screen, not sure it would be a patent-able.

For those who downloaded and tried it what do you think?

I messed around with it a bit yesterday.  I was not impressed.  I'll try some different color pallets next time out.
