Anybody using p-line tactical?

Featured Replies

What's the ups and downs, goods and bads, do's and don'ts? You know......the usual.

I’ve been using 12 lb for the last year and it’s my favorite FC line. It casts great and doesn’t backlash as much as other fc lines. Knot strength is very good, I’ve never been able to break snags off by pulling on it, I always have to cut it.

I just started using this line and I love it no memory strong and sinks fast.

Another fan of this stuff.  I have 20lb on a jig rod and use 17 on my chatterbait rod.  Its diameter is a little thinner than most heavier fluoros, it handles well, and is pretty strong.  No complaints here.

I've been using this stuff a fair bit. I like it almost as much as my Sniper FC (my go to).

Pro's:

Low memory

Casts well

Smooth handling

Strong and abrasion resistant

Good knot strength

Con's:

Pricey

Only available in 200yd spools (I've emailed Pline 3 times about this. See below)

Slightly larger diameter  compared to similar pound test Sunline FC's.

I have emailed Pline telling them that I would buy bulk spools of Tactical if they offered them. The first email was right after it was released and I didn't get an answer. The second email they said "We will consider this for the future". Then after my third email they asked me "What size bulk spool would you be interested in?". So hopefully they will start offering larger spools soon (I'm hoping for 600 or 1000yds).

I'm using it as well.  I like it so far....

Yall think it would do okay on spinning gear or would I be better off with some of that trilene flouro that's meant for spinning reels.......

Everyone has already mentioned the pros and cons, and I would agree with all of them. Sucks that it's so pricey!

Yes definitely will work great on a spinning reel! Way better than trilene.

One con is that no one local to me stocks it, not even BPS. I like it enough to order it though.

I just got some 12 pound Tactical, and it seems like it will be pretty good! Anyone else in 2021 try out the line?

Been using 15lb for several years, zero complaints other than price, picked some up last year when they had the bogo free sale. I probably wouldn’t pay full price for it, seagaur abrazxX is cheaper and just as good.

Had 8lb or 10lb on a spinning setup and ended up cutting it off. Memory was knotting the line too much on the casts.
