True that.

Oddly, the Pop-R stole the popper show, but was then discontinued, then was later reinstated     :headscratch:

My step dad swears by the Pop-R and has spares is his favorite colors still in the package in case he loses them. Are they really that much better?!?!?!

  • with all the new, great, topwater lures out today I still use a jitter bug. I've been using them for over 50 yrs. and the gurgle sound they make brings back so many memories, and is still effective.

  • If you're not using a Johnson Silver Minnow in thick weeds, you're missing out

Not anymore.

The original Pop-R was the king of 'spitting' poppers. Oddly, enough, the reincarnated Pop-R

has a redesigned face that lacks the ability of the original.

Today, the Lobina Rio Rico is the king of topwater spitters, but their price is insane.

Original floating Rapala minnow 2 3/4" and 3 1/2", 3 1/2" Rebel minnow, Hula Popper. all lures from when I was a kid that never stopped catching fish.

Probably small finesse tubes, rigged weedless "stupid tube" style so I have an easier time jerking & ripping them through milfoil/coontail and so that they glide rather than spiral on the fall.

I use custom poured 1/8 oz ballhead tube jigs that use 60 degree line tie EWG hooks and leave the hook texposed.

I forget where I got em from - bought like a 50 pack from someone offloading them on this forum 8 - 9 years ago and still have a handful remaining. Wish I remembered which luremaker they got em from!

Will be sad once they're all gone.

I use rooster tails a good bit. I’ve used them for over 20 years and I haven’t had a bad experience with them and I never see anyone using them.

Popular  with the kids but not serious bass anglers , the lowly Beetle spin . I use them still because they flat out produce .
