  • with all the new, great, topwater lures out today I still use a jitter bug. I've been using them for over 50 yrs. and the gurgle sound they make brings back so many memories, and is still effective.

  • If you're not using a Johnson Silver Minnow in thick weeds, you're missing out

Real old school here.  Lazy Ikes and Hellbenders.  Don't throw either a lot but they both catch fish  Same goes with Jitterbugs and Hulapoppers.  The H&H are my favorite spinnerbaits

Yozuri Floating Minnow.  While I use them too, suspending jerkbaits are all the rage with the cool kids, but I still like floaters for fishing them just below the surface.

Mepps spinners,Johnson silver minnow,Strike King Timber spoon.Manns Razorback Pig crankbaits.got a  lot of older lures that I still use.

A tube. I use a tube all the time. It’s not fancy it’s not sexy it’s not the best new thing. It’s just extremely effective where I fish.

For the Upper Potomac, Susquehanna, and Juniata this is probably the most popular lure used.

Rogers Big Jim Squarebill .I would still use a Dalton Special if I had one .

I threw a Dalton Special a lot when I was a kid. Great lure, don't see em much anymore.i had an old metal tackle box stolen from me that had  2 of my favorites in it. I think they still make em

One year I decided to become a better top water angler and dedicated at least one hour of every trip to top waters . I had one Dalton Special and that was my most productive lure out of all of them .

Grub

Johnson silver minnow with an Uncle Josh pork rind trailer and sometimes a Jitterbug.  Fun at night over weed beds.

Tubes Tubes Tubes! I guess they aren't cool anymore but they tear em up for me. Also when other guys fish ned rigs I look to the tube

In in with a Johnson Silver minnow. Years ago , pork trailer, now plastic. Still works well over moss. Also a white Hendon moss boss spoon, and of course black jitterbug

I’d be interested in reading someone’s experience with this,  it’s too goofy to catch me-the fisherman,  but I guess it’s probably smaller than I think it is, and is basically this? ;

They're kind of similar, but a little different, much wider body. They get bit though.

This guy gets it!

Duo realis pencil 110... they don’t seem very popular but they are so effortless to walk.  I like them better than the heddon and that is saying something.  I don’t throw walking baits often but when I do this is the one.
