Never Forget ~

Featured Replies

I remember exactly where and when I was when I heard on the radio the first plane hit. I saw the second plane on TV live. Right then and there I knew it was a terrorist attack and we would be at war.

I highly recommend visiting the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in NYC. They did a tremendous job of memorializing the victims, as well as tell stories of the first responders and how many of them still suffer.

I’m pretty sure we all remember where we were on that day 17 years ago, more so for those on the East Coast... I was in the station waiting for my partner to finish up some paperwork so we could go 10-8 and get back on the street. Someone came in and said “They flew a plane into one of the Twin Towers”. I didn’t believe what I was hearing and was told it was on TV in the Muster Room. I walked in just as the second plane crashed into the South Tower and moments later when both towers came down.

Too many good people lost their lives on that day and in the seventeen years since. We honor them all by not forgetting what took place on this day...

I remember where I was and exactly what I was doing. What I do recall was the feeling that there is evil in this world and the innocent suffer.  God bless and continue to bring comfort  those who survived, responded, lost loved ones and live with the nightmare of this tragedy. Thanks A-Jay.

Never forget, Never forgive.

I remember a time when a young soldier couldn't wear his uniform when traveling through airports in this country. (Vietnam) This was a tragic event that changed our lives forever. The days that followed especially changed mine as I witnessed the thousands of young men and women across this country walk into the recruiting stations to serve their country. I was so proud to be an American when I saw this.

I was on watch & on duty in the US Coast Guard Search & Rescue Command Center in Atlantic City , NJ.

We got real busy - real fast.

And it lasted  A-While.
