Only one Curado DC in your arsenal, what technique do you use it on?

Featured Replies

So, I'm probably going to be getting a Curado DC on Black Friday with the discount from TW. It'll be my first experience using a DC reel and also my only DC reel in my line-up for at least all of next season. I have Curado K's and a Fuego CT on all my setups now.

So my question is what technique would you use your DC with exclusively. These are my baitcasting setups.

- crankbait (x2) (one for lipless/smaller cranks and the other for larger and deep divers)

- jig/texas rig

- jerkbait

- topwater

I currently have the 8.5:1 in LHR and use mine for T-rigged worms and bullet weights.  I've also used it with topwaters.

dont have the curado but have the metanium dc and its great for windy days. my favorite spinnerbait reel.

Mine would be jerkbaits. Just because they are thrown a lot on windy days and cold temps meaning controlling your cast due to conditions and cold fingers may be more difficult.

I preordered a Curado DC when it first came out but cancelled at last minute I was going to put it on my spinnerbait chatter bait rod.

It’s just a reel. It casts well, and you can throw anything with it. It’s not foolproof and will still backlash.

I think Shimano is excluded - may be better to use an auction site for a discount.

I want one for a cranking set up so that’s what I would use it for.

I would use for soft plastic that often is an issue in the wind.....  Zoom lizards, creature baits, big ribbon tail worms, and  maybe finesse jigs.

I use it for any technique other than pitching/flipping and lures under 1/4oz.

It's ability to fix overruns really shines on long, full casts.
