I know everyone has their favorites. Looking for some suggestions for some crank baits to get started with. My fishing is 99.9% from the shore small farm ponds,some lakes and the local reservoir. Also can through in a few jerk baits.

Strike king kvd or luck e strike 1.5 n 2.5 (0-5')

Norman middle n (7-9')

Luck e strike rc jerkbaits

Those are pretty good without breaking the bank. 

Pick some natual shad, a few brighter like chart/black, and a few red/craw and go from there. 

Manns baby 1- in chartreuse or bone

KVD 1.5 in chartreuse black back

Bandit 100 in a minnow color

DEEP DIVERS (these ones you obviously won´t be trowing them from the bank but just fyi)

-Rapala DT16 and DT20

-Strike King 8XD

-Killer Kraft Deep Monster 800 (also doubtful to be found in the US)

 

LIPLESS

-Spro Aruku Shad

-Rapala Rippin Rap

-Duo Vibration 68

Throwing crankbaits from the bank you are going to lose a lot of them. If you’re not hit stuff you’re missing a lot of potential bites, and if you’re hitting stuff you’re gonna snag.

 

I’d stick with stuff on the cheap side.

Your best bet would be Bandits, they are cheap and they catch fish.

As for jerkbaits, Rapala X-Raps are unbeatable for the price.  3 1/4” and 4” sizes.  Grab a Rapala Husky Jerk or 2 for shallow water.

KVD 1.5's seem like a great place to start if you're bank fishing. Anything deeper is just gonna cause you headaches.
