The past couple years I've found the most fun way to catch bullfrogs is by using a hollow-body frog! They usually sit on weed beds that extend from the bank and they'll chase the bait for yards before eating it. It's a really fun technique and pretty effective too! Makes up for a slow day fishing too

 

They're a pain at times because I can't fish a frog withing a frog chasing it. If I have a real big frog chasing I might let it grab it, but otherwise it's too big of a hassle to unhook and I'm not going to bother with keeping them. 

All of my frog fishing is done at night, with a spotlight and a frog gig.  Frog Legs are yummy. 

Looks like some good eating there.

I use to throw a white floating worm for them along the shore of ponds. 

They are fun to catch.

A black Spro bronzeye frog is a bullfrog magnet around here.

Only thing I've ever hooked with a frog is a bullfrog. 2 actually. I haven't been fishing very long so that should change, but I thought it was funny to catch one that way.

 

It was sitting in the brush a couple feet off shore. I knew he was there the first time. He leaped for it and grabbed it out of the air. Barbless so at least the little dude was easy to release.

Believe it or not, but I’ve found if you’re in an area with a lot of frogs chasing your frog, then you’re usually not in a productive bass area.

Frog on frog violence is real! Haha. If frogs are eating the hollow body frog, its time to move on to another area for me.

I highly recommend it! I have caught snakes that wouldn't let go though

You caught 15 Frogs with a frog, unreal. 

That's better than I ever did with a gig.

 

 

I ate at a seafood buffet once in Turtle Lake, WI that had frog legs available.  I actually had to ask what they were too.  I gave one a try but honestly it didn't have much for taste.  It was like a dry piece of chicken wing lol
