Here's  a good one for y'all, my cousin thinks bass won't hit a lure with red eyes. He thinks eye color makes a difference and the best eye color is yellow. I think he's nuts. Even went as far as painting the eyes of his tackle. Nuts..just plain nuts..

Not only will they strike a lure with red eyes, they will strike a lure with no eyes.  I have both red and yellow eyes that I use on jigs and swim baits.  I put the one on that I think looks the best.

Let's not forget. Ralphie struck a kid with yellow eyes. Must make a difference.

If yellow eyes gives him confidence to use the lures then they work for him.

There was a time period when lots of pro's were promoting yellow eyes on Shad color lures and red eyes on crawdad colors. This followed that bass can't see the color red.

Eyes make no difference, but I have them on all my Siebert Custom Jigs because I LIKE THEM!

Then why would the Strike King Red Eye Shad be such a popular lure?

For jerkbait eye color, I believe red is for sinking and yellow is for floating.

 

Or is it red for floating and yellow for sinking?

 

For some reason I don't recall.

Your not nuts if something gives you confidence. 

Try being around racers who are all superstitious about something because thier lives sometimes hang in the balance. I grew up believing green race cars were unlucky and wouldn't touch one let alone drive it.

Yellow eyes on a lure, go for it or don't only The knows what it wants.

I assumed you were making a joke.  I could care less about the color of the eyes.  I bought them because of the action of the lure.  ?

Red eyes, yellow eyes, any other color eyes, no eyes, the fish don't care. I will agree that if a particular color eye gives an angler confidence, it will make a difference for him/her.

Personally, I have the most confidence with baits that are cross-eyed.
