  • This pic is actually from the first morning of the storm.    It's Lynn's crew on the way out the inlet in Scituate, MA. These surf boats, although no longer in service, were self-right

  • If we had that weather, there would be no milk available in the entire state

I’m sure FEMA and the Red Cross will be there shortly to assist in the relief efforts! ?

It's Tennessee, they won't be able to get through the roads blocked by traffic accidents.

I never thought about it until you said something a couple days ago, you’re right it seems like the worst of the weather is always right over AJ land! I’m not sure what you did to tick off Mother Nature but maybe a peace offering is in order? She sure has your number. ?

Yea -

Like bass fishing, it's all about location.

Surrounded by big water on 3 sides and then being sort of in 'the middle' - seems to be where the snow & cold drop.

Keeps us a little cooler in the summer but keep watching and you'll see what happens in the winter.

btw - we are WAY behind on snow fall . . . . . . . .  so far.

I’m pretty sure those were your famous last words last year, right before fecal matter hit the fan.

I bought 40 gallons when I went to the grocery yesterday (that’s all they had).  I might be willing to trade for a few loaves of bread.

You rookies, throw out the bread and milk. All you need to survive a snow storm is whiskey and beer. That’s what us northerners use to get by.....that probably explains the baby boom up here every Sept. ,October, and November. ?

We celebrate when it gets to 3*C this time of the year. I’m sure it’s he’ll on you down there though, you’re not prepared for it.

Guys on the bass forum wishing for warm weather, guys on the ice forum wishing for cold weather.  I'm in the ice camp at this point, there's no open water whatsoever probably until late March.

The sun is shining, it’s 48*, there’s no snow on the ground, what could I possibly complain about? There’s still ice on the lakes! It’s pure torture! If we canN’t fish I think I’d prefer the norm, cold, snow, and no sun.

Still some snow left but not much.

34 and raining - quite a mess.

Additionally we are WAY low on average snow fall.

Hope it doesn't negatively effect lake levels in the spring.

Which btw, is what it feel like this morning.

111 days to go and this weather makes it feel like it's much closer than it is . . .

There’s no doubt in my mind we’ll pay for this weather in the coming weeks or months.

It kind of reminds me of one of the final scenes in the movie The Perfect Storm (the movie about the Gloucester boat Andrea Gale). They battle the storm then the seas calm, the sun peaks out, the deckhand thinks they’ve made it but the captain knows they’re not so lucky.

It hasn't even dropped below freezing here over night here in the Twin Cities the past several nights.  I often get up during the middle of the night at some point to let the dog out and I can see/hear it still dripping off my roof.  Additionally, all the snow I received in late November/early December is showing serious signs of disappearing.  There are several spots on my front lawn that are completely exposed grass again.
