Hello From Memphis

Featured Replies

Just joined recently. I live in a Memphis suburb and have been fishing for close to 60 years. Started out going to an annual family fishing trip before I could walk. We always went to Lake of the Woods in Canada and caught walleye and pike.

My introduction to bass fishing was in the late 60's. My Dad was a charter member of the Memphis Bass Club. I remember going to monthly meetings with Bill Dance, Charles Spence, and a few other good fishermen.

Started fishing the Tennessee River below Pickwick dam with a college roommate about 20 years ago, mainly floating minnows.Sometime after that Dad and I started fishing the Mississippi River initially for stripers. Then one day we drifted shad and started catching catfish. Second time out doing this I hooked and landed an 80 pound blue catfish! We did quite a bit if catfishing after that, but would always make time to visit the Tennessee River with my roommate.
