While in FL recently, I caught the same bass twice in the same spot on the same lure about 30 minutes apart. There was no mistaking it. It appeared to have been injured. It was shaped like a question mark like it had a broken back and somehow healed up and had sores all over it. It was even stiff. I told the guide it must be trying to commit suicide, but we kept throwing it back.

Looks funny, but there are actually a lot of goldfish in the Potomac and on the Upper Chesapeake.  It's rare to actually catch one though.

once fishing my favorite lake which everyone gets snags in i got caught up on one for the third time. I wasnt going to lose this one. A guy in a boat next to me  saw i was not giving up, had a lure retriever better than mine. after several trys we thought his hung up but up came the snag, a tree branch with 5 good lures and 1 rusty one, one being one of his. being a sport i gave him his back for helping me.

I caught a bike and a nice dive knife. I think the bike had either been stolen and thrown in the lake or maybe a kid wanted a new one so they threw it in the lake because it had to be thrown where it was, no way it fell in that far out.

The dive knife I'm sure was from the fire rescue dive team that practices diving in the lake frequently.

Nothing exciting,, just a few snapping turtles... not what I like on the end of my line

My wives hat when she was in back of the boat. I don't know why she never wants to go fishing with me anymore.:eyebrows:

Didn’t actually catch it, but a couple of years ago I was fishing a lake that sees heavy fishing pressure and a lot of picnickers.

I started casting to what I thought was some kind of metal marker set out from the bank. Turned out it was an baby stroller.

Once I figured out what it was it took a little while for me to actually look inside it.

Owl on Lake Tiger, Kissimmee Chain.

Some reason bang-o-lure looked good that day. Dont ask how we got him unhooked.

I had to yank a Pop R away from an owl twice one evening. It's rare to even see an owl here. They're here, you usually only hear them.

I caught a seagull when my live bait was bouncing in the big motor's wake while moving spots.  Trying to fight something with a rod while its desperately flying back and forth overhead is an experience.

While fishing under a bridge on southbound 35w my Mepps flew a little high in a crosswind and I caught a 16 wheeler doing about 72 mph...

Watched my brother catch a junky old spinning combo on a crankbait and within 10 minutes kick his beloved 8' flippin stick over the side.  He was not impressed when I reminded him of his lovely new scum covered spinning combo.

Do you live in Utah??

I caught a bat ? once. I had just finished retrieving my lure about to make a new cast and a bat comes dashing in toward my jig. It made a last second swerve away from the lure probably when it realized it wasn’t a big. It managed to not only get hooked by a wing, it also managed to free itself. Whew!

I hooked into a grocery bag full of water and mud once. Imagine my disappoinment at the end of that fight.

I've caught a fully opened umbrella that had lures stuck all over it. I guess my libe was stronger than theirs!!

BUT...... the weirdest, weirdest 2 on the same day at the same spot actually.

I got snagged on something sticking out of the water, as I reel it in my heart drops. It's a severed human leg. Pants, boot, all of it. I get it to the bank and call the cops. They come out and after about 20 minutes of them being squeamish, turns out it was kids playing a prank and wrapped a metal rod with clothes and put a boot on it.

About an hour before that I caught this.

Ever see an old cartoon of a guy catching a boot?. One of the old style 4-buckle galoshes?. Got one of those several years ago on my local lake. Almost fell out of my yak laughing.

For anybody interested in targeting such a trophy it was caught post spawn, water temp 70°, at the base of riprap on the dam, in 14’ if water on a DD22. Sorry, do not remember what color.

Also, got a nice 6’ folding aluminum ladder on Lake of the Ozarks. Nailed that beauty on a black/blue 3/8oz jig with a chigger craw trailer.

Years ago, I caught what was at one time a pretty nice Resistol cowboy hat. Resistor western hats are not cheap. The guy was probably mad.

caught an ipad last year. I was just dragging a worm on the bottom and somehow hooked the screen

Man, if Mandarin House was still open, they could put it in that great big tank they had separating the dining room from the bar.
