Goldfish?

I was gonna say goldfish too. Our lake have one that really yellow and huge. It has been caught but I guess he released it back. I saw it once.

Kind of big to be a goldfish.

Looks like a gold colored Koi to me.

One of the long fin variety. Possibly a butterfly koi.

Koi are pretty much just colorful carp.

A couple of ponds I fish have some really big koi, some orange, some white, and some a little bit of both. Don't know how true it is but I've heard they're worth a lot of money to some people.

Cetain varieties can be worth some decent cash in Japan. The are bred for their patterns and color.

They have koi competitions there to see who has the best fish. Kinda like dog shows here.

Is the lake stocked with trout?   The profile that I can see doesn't match a carp/koi/goldfish.   It might be what they call these days a "golden" rainbow.

No trout that I know of, but I have been fishing there every weekend for 4 years. LM Bass, crappie, perch, and bluegill.

Looks like a Koi or a lightning trout to me. It's a little hard to tell from the pictures but if it looked like a carp in person, it was likely a Koi. I see them a couple times a year, likely pets that got too large and people decided to release.

My bet is on a fantail carp. Same species as common carp, just with a longer tail.
