I got the Daiwa Tatula CT this summer great reel! I recommend it! I upgraded from a abu garcia blackmax as well. 

I actually got a good deal on a Fuego CT and bought that instead. Waiting for a chance to try it out!

Had no plans, but recently received a 220yd. spool of 20# Sufix Advance Fluorocarbon which I plan on using on a skipping rod...or two...once I learn.  Got a few Strike King KVD 1.5 Squarebills at the same time.  Yesterday I picked up 2 Storm Arashi 5 Silent  Squarebills for $3.99 at Ollies.  Figured they had to be in the $6-$7 price range.  Checked when I got home and TW sells them for $9.29.  Going back tonight and buy the remaining 3-4 they had left.  Don't care what color they are. 

 

Have managed not to buy any rods or reels in several months.  Hopefully I can maintain that attitude.    But I really would like a Tatula Elite Long Cast or Coastal TW (or both).  So far I've managed to resist the urge.

picked up a 20met, megabass Daemos, megabass brigand, and NRX 894. The NRX lives up to the hype.

No crappie in this pond. Also haven’t seen a bluegill over 4”. Just bass cannon fodder lol. 

Turns out that Daiwa cannot repair the anti-reverse on my reel since it is 15 years old so I am in need of a new spinning reel.  I will pick up either a 3000 or 4000 Tatula.  Contemplating the 4000 for added casting distance.

 

The finesse baitcasting thread got methinking about getting a Dobyns FX742SF casting combo with a Daiwa Tatula.  Not sure what Tatula but the reel will be used for pitching dropshots and some other finesse presentations.  I fish around a lot of breakwalls and pitching is much more effective than casting or pitching with a spinning combo. 

Well....shame on me.  I broke down last night and ordered a $180 reel for $100.  No idea what I will do with it.  And a KVD101H (the red one) for a whopping $45.  Looks pretty so maybe I'll set it where I can glance at it occasionally during the day.  Maybe at work.  Let my mind take me places when things are slow. 

 

EDIT:  Sheet!  Ordered last LH blem Elite Longcast from Midway and a Coastal TWS.  Have buyer's remorse now.    Let that dang Bait Monkey overpower me.

I got the last Garmin Echomap 93SV UHD that Scheels had on sale for $499 recently.  I called my boat guy and told him I was bringing my boat to him for typical service and asked if he would run the tranducer cable to the console for me.  I made the appointment and hung up.  I thought I was good.  Then the monkey clubbed me.  I called him back and told him to order an Ultrex for me too.  Heavy sigh.
