Ribbon tails? On a lead head or Texas or split shot?

I use a 1/4 oz tungsten bullet weight Texas rig on a Zoom Mag 2, which is a ribbon tail.

At the intersection of numbers, catchability (even crappie bite it), size (just shy of 9lbs is biggest), versatility in the water column, versatility in different color water, weedlessness, and castability on nearly every rod I have, the win for me goes to a Fat Impact 3.8 on an Owner colorado underspin.

Traps for big numbers, and jigs w/trailers for big weights. Fishing for largemouths.

Burn em hot on mud flats and pull the rod when it hits anything . Log feels like fish at that speed . Also hop them around on bottom in winter

In my life Texas rigged plastics by far . But the last several years I have been going to them less and less . Not on purpose , I'm just having a lot of success with other lures . A lure gets hot I'll fish it to death .
