Fishing rod- Ducketts

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I just got myself a Ducketts micro magic casting rod for Christmas. I opened it up and as I was rigging it up, feeding line through the guides. I noticed one guide was blocked by the wrap/adhesive or whatever that holds the guide in place. I could not insert anything through, I tried a nail and other such stuff, but did'nt wanna risk breaking the guide off. Any ideas on what to do? Want to try all options, before I think about sending it back to ***, to save the hassle.

I’d be contacting them.  Looks like the epoxy machine got a little carried away with that one.

Wow... man I'd take it back first chance and have it replaced.  Probably a very simple fix, but the way it looks makes me wonder if it's a referb.  I dont know how that got past QC.  If you are dead set on it, take it to a rod builder and have them fix it.  But why pay for a fix like that when it's not your fault

Yeah I'll probably end up sending it back, just don't wanna wait another month to get it back. Their shipping kinda sucks.

Replace

Call the company and be professional. Ask them to send you the new rod asap.

I would call them.  If you try to remove it with say pliers, you are probably responsible for any damage.   Good luck.

Gross. Looks like the QC manager called in sick that day.

Thanks yall, sent a email and left a voice mail yesterday. Probably won't get back till Monday of next week

Send them a picture. You may end up with two poles or at least a replacement before you send it back.

Got the new rod in today, guess what? The 6th guide is missing, completely off.

Send it back again.
