We are on a 100gb a month plan right now and we use that up in about 20 days. Of course, I do try to watch MLF and BASS on my laptop so I know I use a lot while doing that. I have tried exterior antennas but I am in a valley and surrounded by trees and the "local" stations are about 65 miles away and I can't get reception to them. I just can't bite the bullet yet and get rid of it.

I hear ya man I hope you find it!

I need to bail on cable tv myself.

Every month feels like I am being robbed.

Hate it.

Still looking into which way to go but it's happening and soon .

I needed it.

We started the process in Maine, gonna see how it works back home.

My results will be different, I have a 20 y/o and a 17 y/o in my house.

Take with a grain of salt.

I have an antenna in the attic and a TiVo DVR.  I get more TV for free than I have time to watch.  During college football season I subscribed to Hulu.   I wouldn’t subscribe to cable TV if it was $20 a month.

I have YouTube TV and except for the price increase from $49 to $65 last year it's pretty good, but it does have it's drawbacks. The guide is just terrible because you can only look forward 5 or 6 hours to set shows to record. That's not great because I like to set show ahead of time to record.

I can search for them on YouTube TV, but if it's a new show it might not be found. Also, let's say I want to record a single show from a series and not the entire series - I can't do that. It's all or nothing. YOu also can't set it to record first run shows only. For example, I like to record Gold Rush and Deadliest Catch. But along with the first run shows I get ALL of the old shows from seasons past on all of they networks where they air.

Because MLB Network is a must have in our house there aren't many other streaming options that I can choose. I have tried Hulu and I hated it. The interface was lacking and it frequently dropped out.

I also have Prime Video with Amazon and it's fantastic. Not only do they have a great library of past shows and movies, but they also have a ton of great original programming.

Because I have a smart home powered by Alexa I also changed to using the Fire Stick for streaming instead of my PS4 or XBox One. And although many of the same streaming apps are on the game consoles, I never used them. But on the Fire Stick I use other streaming apps like IMDB and some of the others mentioned here.

While there are limitations with streaming, there is still no way I would ever go back to DirecTV or cable.

So I had the "tech" out to look at the picture quality and he says: "No need to turn on the TV, I already know the problem. Your equipment is 2 generations old".

The tech replaces the equipment, turns on at the hub and whatya know, all HD channels came back crystal clear.

This after spending 2 hours on the phone with customer service the day before. 2 hours!? ?

That grinds my gears!

I mean, seriously, that hurts like a butt cheek on a stick!

It's that mystery cord next to the transistor radio.

Sounds high tech

I cant wait to get rid of my DTV. I think I have turned it one maybe 4 times since I have had it. I should just pay the early term fee, so I can save some cash over the next year or so.

I stream Netflix, Amazon Prime video, and that about does it for me, and that is usually only when it is cold outside. During late Spring, Summer, Fall, I am outside too much for TV.

We stopped cable and went to YoutubeTV when Spectrum started charging $4/mo more for the same equipment we had been using for 2 years.  We had 4 set top boxes at the time so that was $16 more per month.  We dropped 2 boxes and started using their Roku app but then their prices went up across the board and we were paying a small car payment a month for TV.  The only thing I regret now is I don't get the regional Fox Sports channels on YoutubeTV because Sinclair Broadcasting got greedy and wanted to raise carrier's prices, which would have made our cost go up.  Oh well, I've found other means to watch our sports online for free.  There's so much free programming using Roku apps like said above that there's really too much programming to watch in a day to justify paying for any TV at all really though.  If I didn't have little kids to keep entertained I would probably drop YoutubeTV.  We get free AppleTV and Disney+/ESPN+/Hulu through Verizon so there's that also.
