Hunting grouse is a passion of mine and they are good battered in the deep fryer! For me its a fun trip north of here, hour and a half and we're shooting a limit of birds and dodging moose hunters. 

Great time of the year. Bass fish in the morning and in a tree stand with my bow in the afternoon. Yea buddy….

I don’t know where specifically you are at in the country but here in the north, September and October often translate into big slow-moving lures for me. Bait is full grown and when there’s hints of winter in the air, the fish can tell. They are hungry and looking for big meals.  A big bladed spinnerbait thumping along would probably be my first choice. Weeds will start to die off over time and I look for patches of green weeds that are still alive.

I am ready for fall, like others have said in here the summer heat can get to you after awhile. Peak summer fishing for me was June to July. Not hating on august because I had some great days this past August but up here in the North East peak fall bass fishing is from Mid September to mid october. I am looking forward to those prime cool air spinnerbait conditions in october.

This is pretty much exactly what happened here too.  June and July were mostly hot, dry, and sunny. August was significantly better.

Cold in September? You in Canada? 

In fall I am going to hit some points deep .The thermocline will be dropping and I generally catch my deepest bass of the year then . If the bass are there it can be a bonanza . If not , cover a lot of shallow water .The bass are biting somewhere .

Ya I seem to do really well in the middle or later half of august. we had one weekend here last month where it got really cool with overcast rainy/windy conditions and the fish went crazy, I probably caught like a 11lb bag if we were fishing in a tournament, the water was warmer than the air and the fish turned on.

Sorry I meant I stop fishing as fish don’t bite in September, maybe towards the end of it. I stay for the most part shallow and havent  used fish finder in the past. Maybe that is it, I am targeting wrong depth.
