4 year old too young or good to go? Indoor arena too loud for the kid?

4 is pretty young. And indoor arenas are extremely loud. Fun show, but I’d say 6-7 is more appropriate in a smaller indoor arena. Outdoors is no problem.

I don’t think he’s too young. The indoor arenas are loud but get him a set of ear muffs and he’ll be good. I even work ear plugs. If it’s the triple threat series they have quads and side by sides they race too, so there’s plenty to keep his attention.

Just make sure you get ear muffs and not ear plugs that way you know his ears are good and he won’t be scared of the noise.

Grandpa will enjoy the show too!

We took ours younger than that and they loved it. Ear muffs are a must. We've been twice actually, it was a big hit both times.

Ditto what Bluebasser said.  I took my son and gave him earmuffs.  He loved it.  Its a must for a kid that likes big trucks.

I took my son at 6.  He rode on the Gravedigger truck with the bench seats.  He had a blast, and it's been an enduring memory.  The biggest thing for us was the heat.

Some kids cried the whole time.  Some of us parents wanted to cry with the $20 'multiflavor' snow cones in a collector cup, the lines to everything, and the lack of places to escape the sun.  I'm glad that I took my son a little later.  There's a very small chance we go back (only slightly greater than me going to see the mouse twice), so I'd want to make sure that he remembered it.

Ours was a family event for years. We would fill up the better part of a row . Everyone went, from the youngest grandkids to us older folks.  We started with the grandkids when they were all around 5-6. They loved it more than we did… My one rule was that we leave just before the end to avoid dealing with the crowds leaving…

We didn't go. Arguing with grandma about wearing masks wasn't worth it to me. We did go to a carnival today. Grandma was wearing a mask and he and I weren't. I didn't hear the end of it.

In grandma's defense, her mother is 77, has COPD, just got over a bout with pneumonia, and may have lung cancer. In my defense, we all have an expiration date.

Tried to post pics of the carnival in the post a photo a day thread but I can't. Pics are too large and for the life of me, I can't figure it out.
