Or jackhammer

dont pros have a hand in designing pretty much any new bait?

Between flatworms, Jackhammers, Whopper Ploppers and RES’s, you’ll probably catch everybody here. Even I own 1 of those 4 ? Probably a few Rojas Spro frog guys here, too. Might have to go back to the Hank Parker Classic Spinnerbait and Guido Bug to catch a few of the old timers though ?

  • I doubt you'll find anyone that will admit a pro can influence their purchases.  But look at all the rods, reels, baits, and boating accessories that fly off the shelf whenever KVD mentions them, and

  • I buy things because the packages are pretty, not because some "pro" tells me to. I'm better than that.

  • What the pros do or have has absolutely no effect on what I buy or use.  I might pay attention to Stacey King as we fish the same lake.

I did notice that the Ned Rig was mysteriously omitted right there ~

Hard to imagine

Ned's not a pro. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking with it :thumbsup_blue:

Perhaps - and I sort of knew that.

But you sure are, especially with one of those things tied on . . .

Must have missed the boat...only 'flatworms' I'm familiar with are the ones we dissected in biology class many (many...many) moons ago

Depends on the sonar - all I got is a 7" Garmin Striker CV (Downscan, no Sidescan)...it's not even a Vivid.

lol well i dont mean you have to do that im just saying they definetley have a drawing power for smallmouth. when they are really biting it probably doesnt matter but i think over the course of a season youll get some extra fish.

Amazing how close to a Yamamoto Shad Shape Worm the flat worm looks.  But then you could say the same to a Shad Shape Worm and another bait that’s been around longer.  I just don’t know what it would be.

looks completely different to me. the whole underside of the flat worm is flat and has a bulbous tail which seems complete opposite of what the yamamoto shade shape worm is972C3E29-F19F-4430-82F9-3E31375D7AFB.jpeg.d240783c346ad6eb77da034276826f97.jpeg

Wheeler has a series on YT with Connell and MDJ where they sit down with a box of random baits and give their opinions on each. Some are sponsors and some aren’t. I really enjoy watching those and its seems to be as genuine of content you will find.

In my early days of bass fishing, I'm sure I was fairly heavily influenced by some of the pro's. Not really any more.

LOL, yeah, no one was influenced by that... :)

I 100% purchased a bunch of vision 110 jerkbaits because of pro influence.

Not one pro but something like 8 of the top 10 were using them at an event on Beaver Lake

That was the only reason I bought them, I'm glad I did.

unable to link story --> vision-110-was-the-common-denominator

I tried some X Zone lures because I follow Brandon Palaniuk on YT. Muscleback Craw and Adrenaline are the ones I am testing out now.

The only pro I have really followed on his advice is Gerald Swindle and the "Ballin out jig" and can say I have had great luck with it. $4.50 a pop is well spent considering they get tossed in every brush pile I pass. Now if I could turn off Tactical Bassin and their rod and reel advice, maybe I could put some money in the savings account.
