Full Cork Jig/Worm Rod ($100-$180ish)

Featured Replies

Looking to upgrade my jig/worm rod and prefer full cork. I know the recommendation is going to be to try the rods first but full cork is hard to come by online and non-existent in most stores. Anyhow, anyone got a good recommendation on a full corker within that price range?

I just picked up a Daiwa Tatula. Ive seen them recommended a lot around here

I use a MH/XF Diawa Tatula for weightless and up to 1/2 oz.
For anything heavier which I do a lot, a Dobyns Kaden 715.

Both are full cork

If you're into longer rods, the Falcon lowrider has full cork on the 7'6 models.  I don't have experience with them, but hear nothing but good things on this site.

Most full cork rods are for cranks or treble baits, there are a few out there as mentioned below,  but not many as there is not much demand. If you want an intire collection of them you may be better building your own, it's really not to terribly expensive either

Halo HFX 7’3” heavy. 46 ton Toray blank, Fuji SS guides with SiC inserts. $150 directly from Halo. Can also apply a 15% off promo code for about $127 out the door.

Or a Dobyns Champion XP 735 on sale.

If you want to splurge, for $250 an Amistad XH.

I second Mike with a Dobyns Kaden but would move to the 745C.  I just like longer.

https://arkrods.com/essence-series/  I don't have an essence series so I can't speak to the quality of the cork, but I much prefer this blank over my Kadens. The Fuji K series guides are great too.

Thanks to all. 6' 10 tatula arrived today and other than the reel lock down (dont like cork lock downs), I'm impressed.

I see where Garroyo130 made his decision but I thought I would add this for all you jig fisherman. This rod is out of the $180 price range. Knowing how well the Dobyns Rods are balanced I thought I would try the Dobyns Champion Extreme HP DX 745C FH. I matched it with a Shimano Metanium 2020 Xg  & moved into a tent in the back yard ? I have only had this combo about a month but can say the sensitivity is great. There is nothing about this rod I would change. One last comment is that Valentines day is going to be very expensive.

Would never buy a g loomis because they are insanely expensive, unless you sponsor me to be the next mlf pro ?

Then there's Falcon, Diawia, Shimano, & others. Point is there's plenty of full cork handle rods.
