Bobber stoppers (new guy question)

Featured Replies

I'm heading to Ft. Myers / Cape Coral Florida in a couple of weeks and have spent plenty of time watching YouTube videos of Florida bass fishing.  It seems that a lot of folks are using a bobber stopper just above their bullet weights to peg the weight for fishing cover.  I've searched various tackle sites hoping to pick some up but haven't found anything like what I'm seeing used.  Could someone please help out the new guy?  Thanks in advance!

Bass Pro in Ft Myers as them in different sizes.
You can order on line from Tackle Warehouse or other on line sellers.

That's where I get mine - for both bass T-Rigs and crappie slip-bobber fishing.

Wow. Just wow. Haha.

I bought the multi pack at BPS for my UL because I use a slip bobber on it. Its supposed to be for different line diameters but I would be hard pressed to notice any difference in them besides the color. But they were cheap, not as cheap as Darren ^ above me but not bad.

Very rarely do I ever peg my t-rigs.  When I absolutely have to peg the weight I just get a piece of old line and tie a bobber stopper knot around the main line.

I use them pitching creature baits to cover.  Wife bought me like 500 rings from Amazon for $15. Now I need to order some more because I can't find them.

The colors do matter on those you get at BPS. I found, if I recall,

the red and yellow slipped too much on thinner line while the

black stayed put.

And that pic was just one of THREE bags in the order. I think 500

total bobber stops. :)

Ok! Why y'all need 500 bobber stops?

When I put em on I never take em off!

I use rubber or neoprene shims made for pegging weights.

That's what the package said so I went with black on my UL. It has 2lb mono and the black stays in place. So i never even tried the yellow and red but good to know if I ever decide I want to try and peg a t rig.

I purchased mine on Ebay, they were only like $5 for 72 of them. I even re-use mine by threading a needle back onto the wire. So I probably won't ever have to buy any of them again. ?
