New from St. Croix LBTC72HM.

I saddled my new rod up with a Conquest 100/  #13 Sunline Shooter Defier Armilo.

This rod is rated Heavy Power/ Moderate Action and fishes as described.  Tied on the

new Spro Aruku Shad 65. The rod is a perfect match for heavier lures and deep divers.

Do you have any experience with the Legend Glass line specifically the 7’2” HM? I’m looking at a comparison between the Glass and LTB moderate tapers.

I’m interested in LTB for 1/2 chatters, spinners and big traps.

Is the LTB graphite, or a mix of glass/graphite?

A legend, reimagined. The next generation of Legend Tournament Bass is the latest in St. Croix Rod design, materials, and angler recognized feedback. Featuring specific handles, lengths, powers, and actions for today’s latest techniques, the next generation also delivers two new materials to your arsenal. All models will feature SCIV+ Carbon Fiber, a strategic lay-up of exclusive SCIV and SCVI, and select models SCIV + with iAct Glass, a carbon fiber hybrid with internally active Linear S-Glass. 16 new casting models feature:

That particular model doesn’t say glass on the name or spreadsheet so I wasn’t sure if it was mixed.

I guess you don’t own the Legend Glass to compare.

No, but my main rod for deep and heavy cranking is a Lamiglas SR705R.

The St. Croix is a different animal. My Lamiglas is much "softer".

I have the Med. Legend Glass and I use it for all kinds of crankbaits but I would not use it for the baits you have listed. It's feels too soft to me for those baits.  I would look for a rod that is a composite.  I am not sure if the new LTB is but I have a G. Loomis IMX Pro 904CBR for the exact baits you listed above including shallow running crankbaits.

getting one for exactly those baits.

I just picked up the 7'3" HXF "Power Finesse".  Very nice rod!  Going to use it for T-rigs in the deep grass.

I own a 6' 10" MH/M Legend Glass. I'm not a fan of glass rods for single hooked baits, but if I was ever going to try using any glass rod I'd ever owned for them, that would be it.

I currently use a 7’4” BLX for these techniques and it shines, but it’s also my big crank stick and I want to free the two techniques from the same rod.

The Legend Glass 7’2 H had me interested then the new LTB came out.

I prefer more moderate tapers on my sticks other than my bottom contact 2 because I fish from a kayak. Something about a slower taper gives me a better hook to land ratio on both treble and single hook moving baits. It’s one of the reasons I’ve fallen in love with Megabass, they provide those actions and tapers in often times smaller packages.

Take a look at the valkaryie rod on the tackle trap if you want a glass rod and like megabass rods.  I want one so bad but they're $500 or $450 with discount code.  Too rich for me.

I’ve eyed them for a couple years. Not being able to handle them in person is the only issue. I’m able to see most other models at local shops.
