Nice. Super Fluke?. I'm pretty sure in Ga. it's illegal to pond fish and not be in possession of a popper.

Today I rigged a Rage Hawg. One bite, one bass.

Small pond with no cover? Geez..... I'm fishing somewhere else.

Less competition for me! Those ponds can hide some giants now and then.

I throw many different baits, techniques, and presentations when pond fishing.

 

Great way to test rods, reels, line, hooks, and weights, too.

 

 

I like pond fishing, especially with the whole family. Bass, panfish, turtle, snake, birds... it has everything!

Same.  Anytime I get a new rod, reel or bait, I go straight to my honey hole.  I like to try techniques I struggle with and see how I can improve on them.  Some ponds are different though.  They are a smaller closed system that bass have learned to adapt to. Some days I could throw a bottle cap with a hook glued to it and the bass would smash it.  Other days, I could fish my go to baits and nothing gets bit.

Lol. I’d say Senko, Zoom Trick and Neko Macho (with a Fat IKA in reserve). 
 

I’ve had little success with spinnerbaits and zero with lipless cranks in the ponds I fish. But soft plastics? Killer. 

I basically exclusively fish ponds and have my entire life. I have really focused on increasing the size of the bass I am targeting over the years. 

 

Soft plastics of all kinds crush it in ponds but I actually find fishing a Senko quite boring. I also think that so many folks throw them that pond bass, especially larger ones, are difficult to catch with them. 
 

Vibrating jig has consistently been the best bait I’ve got in the arsenal almost year around. It targets much larger bass and it does very well in grass. I avoid this is crystal clear water but that’s rare in my ponds. 
 

Lipless and crank baits are practically worthless. I’ve started testing a wake bait that goes about 6 inches deep and have caught a few small bass but this is just experimental. 
 

Variations of a fluke style rig definitely work but they don’t target larger fish as well. I can get great numbers with them though. I’m currently testing a variety of different styles of flukes (weighted and unweighted from 4 to 6 inches) to see if I can find the right balance of bigger bites and frequent bites. Zman Darter is 6inches and I’m excited to test it out on a weighted wide gap. 
 

TRD is about as good as it gets if you want numbers. I catch a decent sized one on it every now and then. 
 

Jigs are the other big fish bait but it’s so hard to fish in mucky ponds. I’ll use them more in the winter months when there isn’t as much growth. 
 

Small swim baits are nice throughout the year…caught an 8lber on a 3inch earlier this year and a couple 5 lbers on 5inxh swimbait. I’ve never tried larger (and don’t have the equipment to throw bigger).

I wish vibrating jigs/chatterbaits produced for me in the ponds I fish, but they don’t. Crankbaits aren’t great, but I do catch some bass on squarebill. Also do ok with jerkbaits. Jigs? Once in a blue moon, but as you say, they are difficult to fish in a mucky pond. 
 

Soft plastics rule. Mostly worms of various types and sizes, Senkos for sure, as well as Neko Machos and Fat IKA’s. Craws on a TR aren’t a big producer. Nor are flukes and paddletail swimbaits. 
 

It’s surprising to see what discernible tastes these bass have. Sometimes I could fish a craw TR and get maybe one strike, then change to a Zoom Trick or stickbait and get crushed repeatedly. 

I fish ponds, pretty much exclusively. By June they are getting weed choked, most fishermen are gone to where the fishing is easier, weedless is a must.

 

Soft plastics, the more action the better, for me it's mostly craws in white, chartreuse, or green pumpkin, weights from none to 1/4 oz. Once in a while spinnerbaits with a trailer, plain gold Mepps if I'm bored and there is a clear spot, or even a gold Johnson spoon with trailer, especially in beaver channels. I'll try anything I can get through the weeds but usually fall back on the plastic craws.
