Recommend A Good Worm Rod

Featured Replies

Used to post here. Got the golf bug and put my bass fishing away a few years ago. Going to get back into some bass fishing once it gets cooler. Getting the bug again. I'm old school and want a good worm rod. Senior basser looking for excellent performance and feel with latest technology.

Will spend 100.00 to 150.00 American dollars.

Thank You.

I would get a Falcon Lowrider in that price range. Probably All Round Fast.

I remember you!  :welcome: back.

Right at the top of your budget...Tatula 6'10" MHF, $20 less Lowrider 6'10" HF or the one mentioned above.

Lowrider is the correct answer.

7' MH XF. Light, sensitive, durable, $129. @Catt converted me to the XF club for wormin. This is the only rod I throw em on anymore. From weightless sticks to Ol Monsters, this rod will get it done. It's also my favorite for light trig's, finesse jigs, and skipping.

That’s my Texas rig rod. Great for that application.

Okuma TCS 7’3” heavy/fast. They label it as a frog/Swimbait rod but I also use it as my Texas rig and jig rod. Absolutely love it! $150 as well!!

iRod Genesis III Harold’s Lone Star Special 6’9” Medium Heavy if generally throwing lighter rigs and generally no worms of the 10-12” variety.

It’s in the name! This is the Texas rig special.

Runs $150, iRod has excellent customer service

Currently I use the Tatula 7’1” MH/XF.

The best I’ve ever used is the original Fenwick Techna AV that’s not made anymore.
But if you look around you may find one.

I have a Lowrider and I like it a lot.

I’m not a big fan of Duckett rods (no reason other than personal preference), but the Micro Magic Pro is awesome in this range. It’s really, really good.

Abu Veritas is also very nice.

I bought an ark rod a couple years back on a whim and have added 3 more since. Been very impressed with them for the price.

Same rod I use for worms, ect. And I'll second the great customer service, matt is the man.

Also, at 149.99, the Irods look and fish at a much higher price point.

I have 4 Irods, including their heavy swimbait rig, and am very happy with all of them.

Fed Ex dropped off #15 on my porch yesterday. 7'4" H MF Invoker composite this time around. Just a wee bit more backbone than the Tatula chatterbait rod, but lighter and better balanced. That tatula has a great taper for CB's, but it's heavy and really wears on my ol broken wrists. I've been happy with every single Ark. Not a dud in the bunch.
