Question for the mods about new posters

Featured Replies

  • Super User

It has been a while now since I have been a new poster, but with what happened on the tackle forumwhere a new poster trashed a store and insulted many members on the forum leading to restrictions on the thread. Do new accounts currently have their initial posts moderated? As much of a pain as it might be would that help the situation or was this a one off?

Not sure what others thoughts are?

Also didn’t see an obvious place to post this.

I believe that particular troll has been banished. Seems like new members posts require approval, Glenn will know as he created this whole thing by hand

staying away from that thread is a great way to avoid drama, especially around Black Friday

Yes...

New members have their posts reviewed. We have addressed current issues

and Glenn has been quite clear on dealing with trolls.

We are on it.

Yes, it's been that way since last summer to cut down on spammers, which has proven to be extremely effective.

The troll was an anomaly and is banned.

And ya, surprise!  We have the ability to moderate posts on a per-thread basis! :)

That's kinda like that early 90s moment when the world discovered stealth technology really did exist!  :)

And that's not the only trick we have at our disposal.

I think y'all do a great job.    I don't recall any insulting posts toward anyone.

No one has even called me the fat guy that catches small bass that I know of.

I don't think it counts when you're talking about yourself, Paul.  :laugh5:
