NRX+ utility rod...?

Featured Replies

I want to get a nrx+ casting rod, a utility rod, something I can throw chatterbaits, swimjigs, small soft plastic swimbaits, spinnerbaits, that stuff. With a rod as nice as a nrx+ I want to use it as much as possible. What would be the best choice ? I have a dedicated jig rod and dedicated worm, stickbait, finesse jig pitching rod. So Im looking for a badass go to rod.

thanks all

I have a 904 mbr and it’s good but I would think an 843/844 depending on most common weights. 1/2+ 844, 1/2- 843.

I’d say save some money and get the GLX 843 or 844 depending on what weights you want throw

844MBR is versatile enough for 3/8-12 chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, square bills, jigs etc.

I have the NRX+ 842 MBR and it’s excellent for the lures you listed in lighter weights, in addition to jerkbaits and crankbaits. This works for my style of bass fishing, but you might need the 843/844 if you’d like to throw a larger variety of weights.

^ Regardless, the NRX+ is a sweet stick!

I have the Conquest 843c and use it for all the applications you described- handles jigs/t-rigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, swim jigs, and swimbaits beautifully.  I would avoid going for the 842 if you already have a finesse applications rod.

The 843C MBR would work.

I have the 904C in the MBR line. It has become my go to for everything around a 1/2 oz, except crankbaits.  The 843 sounds like it would fit the OP intentions better.

Depending on what weight jigs your thinking, 843/844

I have the same Conquest and use it just the way you do it is a great versatile rod.  I think the NRX+ version would serve OP as well but fishes just a touch lighter is what I was told.
