Toad Thumper frogs

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried the Toad Thumper frogs? They were introduced last year. The promo video's look great, but I guess they're supposed to.

Toad Thumper is partially owned by Cody Cannon, singer and songwriter for the band Whiskey Myers. Not a great reason to buy the toads, but I'm a huge WM fan.

Got one this winter but haven't thrown it yet. I have heard good things about them.

That's a great color.   Bone with some red, and then enough pop to catch the angler like me lol.

Nothing wrong with the angler admiring the bait as well. I appreciate a good looking bait (see: Bait Porn thread). Tho I won't buy a bait unless I think it's actually gonna work.

I heard an interview with Cody, sounds like he worked pretty hard to get the best hookup ratio

I heard that interview too. I guess I'll order a few and see. Really like the bone color that @NorthernBasser posted.

These suckers were buy 2 get 2 free a few months ago on Baitwrx. I got 4 waiting to hit the water in about 3 weeks.

I've used the toad thumper. Nice soft body. Pretty easy to walk. I'm a terrible frog fishermen. Last year, fished it on 30# Sunline Xplasma with an ALX Enox BMJ. Sparse to moderate grass/lily pad areas. Gets smashed, but couldn't hookup....... that's on me. I don't prematurely swing, usually reacting maybe too late, along drag slightly too lose on some occasions. I forget if I experimented with bending the hooks out to any degree or not. This year, will be trying a Kaden 715 and Champ 763....aiming for a slightly slower tip with more backbone, if that's possible.
