I began using hi-viz braid when teaching my grandson how to fish a Texas rig    
it was much easier for him to detect bites than just relying on feel which is how his dad taught him to fish night crawlers.  
Around that same time my eyesight started giving me issues. I started using the combo I’d set up for the grandson. I haven’t looked back and I currently have hi-viz on all the combos I use for jigs and soft plastics, 

If you’re at that age when line watching becomes a chore, or you’re trying to gain confidence using a jig or plastic worm, try switching over to hi-viz braid with a short, fluoro leader. Your catch rate and your confidence will increase

Just put Hi-Viz on a reel 2 days ago for use tomorrow, my first try with it. Guess I’m getting to that age too. Hopefully my results match yours.

That's what I have been using on my Texas rig and jig setups. Great line. 

I'm not old and can still see just fine, but I like hi-viz braid because with the wind here, it can be hard to see that moss green against the waves and constantly changing reflected light unless you get the sun in right position.  With a T-rig, it's less of an issue because it's usually heavy enough to pull the line straight and feel for bites.  But with a ned rig, wacky rig or shaky head, it can be really hard to fish without it.  

I put hi-viz on some of light duty spinning rods for shaky head and ned rig. Yo-zuri blue has stood out the best for me. The yellows/greens depending on pollen, water, veg, etc. I lose them but never the blue. 

I’m not brand loyal for braided line and usually buy something different every time just to try something new. The only thing that doesn’t change is it has to be hi-vis!!

I'm sorry but is there a problem with him to rely on feel to detect bites?? I thought it was great for kids to develop that feel detection at an early age rather than depending on their eyes. 

I'm teaching my kid to fish and I teach her only to feel bites and identify rocks, brush or fish.. I check her line visually in case she misses a bite but other than that is all feel. Sure using all senses is the way to go but always thought developing feel should come first.

No problem, he uses quality equipment and learned how to feel bites years ago. The ‘problem’ is that he relies solely on feel and is missing those more subtle bites that are better detected by line watching. 

Agree with this. I use Hi VIS Green Seaguar Smackdown braid to a floro leader and it does help my aging eyes more. 

Being old and having only one working eye - I need the hi-vis for finesse line watching when working with slack or semi-slack line.

 

Smackdown Bright Green or Sufix Yellow are my choices.

My eyes need all the help they can get and I typically use smaller diameter braid

Im a big fan of Yo Zuri yellow braid. Its a bit stiffer than other braids but IMO at 10lb test, thats a plus. 

My first year to try out hi vis. Using it to help see my line in the river current. I am curious as to how long 832 stays hi vis yellow.
