Fury 704 casting rod

Featured Replies

How is this rod for Texas rigged weightless 5” senkos? Does it load up well enough or should i go down to the 3 power

704c should be just fine for weightless senkos. Senkos got some heft to them compared to other stick baits thanks to the salt

Dobyn's 704C are typically a MH IMO so maybe a tad too heavy for weightless Senko?

Believe it (or not), but I have used my 705CB for weightless TR’s with “heavier” baits like 5” Senkos, Neko Machos and Fat IKA’s and it’s actually done a pretty good job. I tried it on a whim and it surprised me. I get decent hooksets and it will cast those baits quite a ways.

3 power will be a lot easier to cast and more then enough strength for hook sets. Spinning would be a better choice then casting 5” Senko's because of more slack line to let the Senko free fall. Casting you need to strip off a yard of loose line.

Listen to this!!

I use my 703 for weightless Senko's.  Just about perfect.

I'd be looking elsewhere. You can get a lighter, more sensitive blank, with quality hardware in that price range without looking too hard. Fury's are moving bait rods IMO.

I agree with this.
