Baitcaster with audible drag?

Featured Replies

Are there any baitcasting reels out there with an audible drag system?  I’m finding that’s one thing I enjoy about spinning reels and am not sure why baitcasters don’t have it.

 Ouch!  lol

The reels i have with the clicking drag are

Daiwa Zillion

Lews BB1 Pro

Abu 6500c

Havent used the Zillion yet but the BB1 Pro was my first modern reel to have that feature, i didnt really think i needed it but it definitely is a great feature.

Many reels can have a drag clicker added in; have a look at Ali and they're available for most models.  I've put one in every reel I own that didn't come with one.

Daiwa Steez A has an audible drag clicker. I find it louder than the Zillion as well.

My fishing buddy won't buy any reels that don't have a clicking drag or the ability to be upgraded to one. But I think a clicking drag is overrated.

Clickers went out when free spool reels arrived.

alderbaron....

Shimano reels usually have them.

I don't care too much about it, since a big with makes an equivalent sound when taking the line out, when the reel has no drag clicker.
