Casting rods: G. Loomis

St Croix is my favorite but I do have a G Loomis which is equally as nice.

Anyone tried the Kister line of rods?

A few of my friends love 'em.

My G. Loomis is excellent but I also enjoy my St. Croix's and BPS rods, too.

Hey, my old Ugly Sticks are still performing very well.

And the Shimano's are excellent, even the one where I broke one of the eyes.  You never realize the eye is missing.

I have to say mine is cross timber custom rods the lady that builds these things is one class act!

I very rarely "promote" a product but Mary deserves all the cudos she gets.. she puts her money where her mouth is when it comes to supporting troops and I personally can't thank her enough for her generosity to the soldiers... and NO she didn't give me a rod...

I have heard where folks had rods stolen and they get with her to REBUILD their collection because her rods are THAT good...

Fenwicks.  I think these rods are very underrated, and very seldom talked about.

G Loomis is my favorite and the only ones I use.

The only rods I use are Kistler's LTA Heliums, Megabass, and one Okuma(for the 5 ounce swimbaits).

   I own Shimano, Daiwa, All Star, Fenwick and a Ken Cook Berkly flippin' stiick. But one stands alone................................... Grandt rods...................

I use to be a big fan of All-Star rods but after I picked up my first Kistler it was all over. All-Star still makes a decent rod for the money but I am just blown away by the Kistler's lightness, strength, durability, and insane sensitivity. I highly reccomend a Kistler rod to anyone who hasn't tried them.

For a poor man on a budget, I like Bass Pro shops rods, the bionic blades, extreme's, and cranking sticks can't be beat in there price range especially when you buy them on sale, which BPS has often, I also don't mind the "hump" on the handle, I actually like it. I also have several Fenwick rods (Eagle GT, Venture, Techna AV) and they are very good resonable priced rods. And last but not least the good old Berkley Lightning rods perform much better then there $30 price tag, and you don't have to worry about busting one. I have no doubt the higher end rods and reels people recomend here are far better than the stuff I use, I just like to offer an opinion on some more moderatly priced gear, that is reliable and of good quality for those of us who can't afford $300 rods and reels. That beeing said I PROBABLY could afford a few of those combos if i didn't have soo many of the less expensive outfits, but I like different rods and reels for different purposes (crankbaits, weightless soft plastics, jigs, c-rigs, flipping, t-rigs, top waters, live bait, jerkbaits, frogs, panfish........and others I forgot to mention) for most of these fishing styles I have built a combo with the affor mentioned rod choices that suit me and allow me to feel comfortable and confident in the technique I am using.

i like croix first but if i couldent find the rod i needed in croix ....id get a loomis or a shimano crucial
