Looking for new 3 inch bait for 1/8th oz. jig head

Featured Replies

I go through quite a few of these, it's the Gamakatsu 604 mold.

Thanks for all the good ideas, and special thanks to RRocket and TnRiver46 for some nice pics.

I’m a big fan of the Arkie XL jigs in 1/8oz; hook’s a bit bigger, so it still works with thick baits. Caught two bass and a crappie this afternoon with some 2.75” Strike King tubes—got the jigs and tubes from Wal-Mart.

And I’ll second @TnRiver46’s suggestion of the Zoom Tiny Brush Hog—it was a skunk buster for me on a jighead last year. Bass and warmouth alike were all about it.

Finally, I’ll only add that BPS’ tiny panfish beaver fishes fantastic in creeks.

Ah, shoot—you said tiny fluke, not tiny brush hog.

Yeah, those Coosa bass cannot stand those tiny beavers. They fall so erratically. I got the pearl/white color for stained water.

Gene Larew Ned Rig Inch Worm. 3.75" can be cut to size due to design of bait.

Rabid Baits Fox Tail Ned Rig 3"

Missile Baits Ned Bomb Worm 3.25"

my alternate favorites when not fishing a zman trd.

Some of the ones I really like and that have not been mentionned: Jackall Yammy Fish and the Great Lakes Finnesse baits in mat finish ( if you can find them).

3” Yamamoto Zako

I really like 3” and 4” largo shad. They have really good body roll and present a nice profile. Because of the body roll aspect they double nicely as swim jig trailers. (I have to say though, its hard to beat a 4” easy shiner, espesially when they are alittle more finicky.
