Jerkbaits

Anyone else use a fluro leader when using floating jerk baits

No leader - straight YZH.

I did for the longest time but finally stopped last year and went to straight flouro.

I primarily use vision 110s and 110 jr. and have found the flouro just gives me better action, no leader issues and far better hook up ratio...

Yes always use a flouro leader but I'm a braid user.

Flouro, straight, not on the rocks…

10lb sniper to 30lb power pro or varivas8 pe 1.5. I love the hard snaps braid gives and a light flouro sink is beneficial to me as I’m almost always working 12-25’ of water on jerks.

oh god. Can’t read apparently. I use neutral to slow sink jerks 99.9 percent of the time.

Ye I prefer the sinking fluro gives it a nice action and slightly slower rising

Any balsa floaters, I use straight braid on a spinning rod to maximize casting distance.  Slow float or suspending jerkbaits get thrown on braid to leader.

I would never use braid on a stickbait. 10 lb. invisx.

This thread is about a jerkbait, not a stickbait.  I think you meant to type jerkbait.

Apparently I'm the only one still using mono with jerkbaits.

Here in the Ozarks where the Jerkbait was invented they are called stickbaits.

I assume because the original ones were weighted balsa Rapala's.

Even the signs over the section in the bait shop where they are sold says stickbaits.

The worms you call stickbaits we call Senkos regardless of the brand.

Well I guess there's a local dialect wherever you are.  Seems like a yum or zman elaztech stick bait should not be called a senko though.  Only yamamoto makes senko.

No.  I use mono and copoly only.  NEVER had an issue.  We worry too much about line and color and not enough about size and presentation.  YMMV,
