I decided to order a GLX MBR 843c.  Versatile rod and should do other things pretty well too. I need that going from 20+ rods in my bass boat to 8 now in a kayak.

I'm pretty sure you’ll enjoy that rod but I’m not sure if it’s ideal for a turd bait.. but report back on its effectiveness if you don’t mind. There is great interest in 💩 baits on BR 🤣

I’m pretty sure the Japanese think Americans have lost their minds 🤪

I agree on these - a slightly leaner, lighter version (.4 oz) of the scat lure. It has a little slower sink rate than the others listed above and I like throwing them on weed edges or flats in 4-7 fow.  A little more wobble/wiggle than their chunkier counterparts.

They are also about 1/2 the price of the JDM turds which doesn’t hurt 👍

Yes, the rod is backordered, but should be here in a week or two… the Loomis rep sold me on the versatility of the MBR rods - football jigs, spinnerbaits and yes - even the dreaded turds 💩

In Japan many use a 6'6" rod for this, so that's what I like to use fishing it with twitches and (not lift & fall). Certain anglers used a CNQ 783C before Deps made the Soft Jerking Element rod for this technique.  If you want more Japanese YouTube info copy and paste this into your search:

Looks like a good one. The missile

nothing skips better for me than a poop bait.  to the untrained eye, I look like I can skip a bait.  so my rod of choice needs a softer tip.

Ooh I’ve had my eye on that rod for a while. I have the 783 MBR in the IMX line—older model—and it’s my favorite baitcaster by far. In fact I’ve used it for smaller (3” new size) Deps Scat and it is perfect action for that (and so much more) Let us know how you like the GLX.

Will do, my expectations are pretty high for this particular rod so we’ll see. The GLX was just redesigned and it’s currently backordered which adds to the anticipation.

It’s touted to be very versatile so I want to give it a pretty thorough workout with two or three different techniques and then maybe I’ll post back here with a review.

I tried it on an Xtasy 723c and it wasn’t powerful enough. Sent an email to Gary and he said at least a 4 power, and he personally would use a 5 power.

I would agree with that
