Plano 3700

Featured Replies

My wife recently started making bracelets, necklaces, ect with beads. She had been buying storages boxes from Wally World & Hobby Lobby. They're cheap knockoffs of a Plano 3700. Yesterday I bought her four H2O 3700 boxes.

My question, is the anyway possible to purchase additional dividers?

I've sent e-mails to Plano, Bass Pro and Fleet Farm (they also have their own box) and everyone says that they do not sell dividers. It's strange that the 3700s come with a low number where-as the 3701s come with an excess number.

I'm pretty sure that everyplace has Plano make their boxes - the Bass Pro and Fleet Farm boxes have their own logos on them, but are marked 'Made by Plano' on them.

I have more plano edge dividers than I know what to do with. I would happily give most of them away. I actually wish plano would sell naked edge boxes with no dividers. After you buy 1-2 regular boxes I feel like you're set on dividers for life.

^ PD - Same with the ProLatch 3701 - I've got a quart-sized ziplock stuffed full of spare dividers as well as 6 'strips' uncut from all the extras they include.

I do not understand 3-d printers... or much of any new technology.

I know a bit more - I worked the assembly line at Stratasys for a while as a temp...they're one of the leading manufacturers of industrial 3-D Printers. I know how to put them together, but not how to use them....wasn't one of the QC testing group.

Don’t see the correlation between printer and the dividers. The boxes and dividers are made on molding and blow molding equipment.

@Spankey all you need is one divider and you could easily make them with a 3-D printer. Heck, someone probably already has the plan for them online where one could easily download it and start printing.

3D printers use a digital model to create a physical object by adding material layer by layer.

There are numerous useful things you can create with a 3D printer. From household items like coasters, door handles, and wall hooks to more complex items such as musical instruments, camera gear, and even prosthetics. You can also print educational tools like anatomical models or geographical maps.

The larger units Stratasys made were used by General Dynamics to prototype things like landing gear for new aircraft. While it took a couple days to print one out, it was much less expensive than prototyping by metal fabrication.

I have a walmart bag full of these things but I'd need the measurements to pull some out.  Some are even still tabbed together.

I have a lot of these dividers but I have found and not really paid attention to why there are some subtle differences between them.  Some have square bottoms, some are rounded and there are some odd sizes in the mix.

Toxic, The subtle differences are for where in the box they go. The back wall dividers will have a rounded edge on one side. the middle one will have both bottom edges square. The front ones will have a rounded edge on the front and a notch on the top for lid clearance. I think to Plano ones are also marked Front, Middle and Back on the tab.

Hope that helped!
