Thanks to the BR community!

Featured Replies

Want to say thanks to Glen, staff, moderators, and the great people of this community! I ask lots of questions and get great, helpful answers. I post pictures and people "like." Feel like I am able to contribute at times, and help out my fellow anglers. This is a great place! I am thankful!

I have had an account on Twitter|X for a while...but never really followed much. In the past few months I have logged in more...and it's pretty eye opening. Rough crowd at times. Savage and hurtful sometimes. Downright nasty in some instances.

Two weeks ago I opened an account at bluesky. And I thought Twitter|X was rough. Zero out of five stars...do not recommend!

Rarely do people attack each other here. And when that sort of thing happens, it’s not tolerated very long. Politics seems to be consuming a lot of lives right now too and this is a safe haven from that nonsense.

Keep up the fine work here.

When I became a moderator I thought for sure I’d see ‘the other side’ all the dirt that doesn’t get shown to you all. That wasn’t the case at all. In fact, it’s very rare things go off the rails. Everyone on here knows the rules and for the most part follow them and are just wholesome down to earth good people. It is a breath of fresh air for sure.

This BR family is a circle of strength and passion.

With every new member the circle grows larger.

Every bit of sharing and even crisis faced together,

makes the circle stronger.

Or in our case, just about every city.

Having moderated FB groups and Use-Net groups in the ancient past, I know how far down some people can go. That I've actually made friends here - even if only Virtual - speaks highly of the class of people we have here. The wealth of knowledge freely shared is also an eye opener.

BR Members Rock

That is all.

I used to follow a couple of other fishing sites, but no more. I got tired of guys being rude, making stupid comments and smarting off. BR is the best. Our site moderators do a great job here, and make sure this site runs smoothly.

When I was asked to become the newest Moderator I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to contribute much considering the team @Glenn has already in place.
The vast majority of the members here made the decision for me.

I was concerned that I would make a decision that would set this place back 10yrs!
I quickly learned even tho I sometimes overthink every decision for the benefit of all, the patience of the team, the sharing and caring of the members, have made it seem less

Well said @A-Jay !

Thanks folks, the mods & I really appreciate the kind words.  But it's YOUR participation that makes these forums so great.  It'd be very boring if nobody showed up. We'd be sitting here all by ourselves! LOL.

I merely provided the platform for you all to use.  YOU are the reason these forums - and this site - are what it is.  YOU are the life and soul of this site. YOU make it happen!

Y'all are great!  :)

I hopped back in to bluesky and was going to screen shot some messages (and bleep out the expletives), but apparently I have been blocked...so those message are gone. That's a good thing!

So I'm back here at BR, looking to hone my pre-spawn techniques.

Oh, two of the three Shimano Citica CI-200's purchased via eBay have arrived this week. Just waiting on the third : )  Love me some old bait-casters!
