How are Magnum baits?

Featured Replies

anyone try their senkos or mag senkos? Looking to find something to replace my Big Dawg Baits as I’m running low and they closed down. I love how dense theirs were and ton of confidence. I have also tried Gambler, Bitters, Reaction Innovation, Bruiser etc. just still like the Big Dawg the best.

Mag speed worm and mag speed craw and mag trick worm are amongst my favorite lures of all time.

Magnum baits do better for me in dirtier water. Hartwell is very clear most of the time so I rarely get to use magnum baits. For me I'm most usually going in a more finesse direction and downsizing.

@BlackwaterPark10  I've had some big days on the 8.5" wormser, but didn't really throw them last year.  I do have a bag of the 10" stick in kush, but still haven't broken my personal "no stickbait" phase.  The wormser is dense and durable.  I think they're worth a try.

yea I know they have a style called magnum. Check the link I posted, it’s a brand called Magnum baits that I’m curious about.

Rigged how?

@BlackwaterPark10 since you're not getting much out of this thread, I just wanna pass along that I found them thru hogfarmer years ago, in case TW limits you.  I know they're "Cali" colors but kush and delta dark purple look very Florida in hand.  Lube juice is something I need to investigate for up here.

thank you! This is where I saw them also actually. I’m going to pick some up on TW since they are on sale and give them a try

I know a guy that swears by them.  As ll hand poured.

Very high quality baits. I've had the rod almost ripped out of my hand on Lake Fork using the 5" Beef Craw. CS is very good, also.

Oh wow....

This is one of those questions.

All the ways?

That's why these are staples - they don't really have one way they work - if they did - I wouldn't buy em.  🙂

I fish them any way I can think of to fish them and catch fish doing those things every year.  I like weightless and rigged weedless for buzzing or twitching over shallow cover or skipping under docks or overhangs or working grass lines early in the morning or pad fields.  Think buzzbait but sneaky.  I like them texas rigged, pegged and unpegged with lots of different weights.  I like all of them as swimming and casting and pitching and dragging jig trailers.  I would use them on drop shots, free rigs and swing heads without hesitation.

Really the more interesting question would be how wouldn't I rig them!

I don't think I'd use speed craws on a Alabama Rig but now you're getting me thinking 🤔 😂🥴

Zoom Magnum T rigged

Gambler Burner worm 7" is a killer swimming worm and versatile as well. It's a big bait and works great for swimming or pitching.

I should have said “rigged which ways?” 😁
