Clear storage bag for lures like a 1-gal ziplock?

Featured Replies

I throw a lot of short grubs for smallies and keep the little bags of grubs in a 1-gal ziplock bag. I’d like to find a slightly sturdier bag solution that has a clear construction and a zipper easy to open/close. Suggestions?

I use reusable silicone sandwich bags (although not gallon size). Super cheap depending on where one obtains them.

I use freezer bags.

Always a little more stout.

My tackle storage strategy revolves around the plastic bag.  You can find any plastic bag you want on the Internet.  Amazon has them and there are other options as well.   Typical plastic bags you get at the grocery are 1 mil thick.  Freezer bags are usually 2 mil.    You can get pretty much any size bag you want up to 8 mil thickness.  4 mil would be more than thick enough for soft plastics.  I put individual lures with hooks in 6 or 8 mil small bags.

Here is just one of many options on Amazon.

This is what I use and they are bulletproof!

I like the TW Bass Mafia bags Money Bag.  They have a zipper closure as well as a super strong zip lock closure.

Tackle Warehouse Money Bag 13x16

I use a lot of these bags too.  They're a much tinner material and, smaller than the Money Bags and just have a zip lock closure.  What I do like about them is they're really cheap.

If you have a Dollar Tree near you, check these out. Sturdy and works great!  Just no sliding zipper so a little harder to close. Large works best.

I use the Daiwa Bait Bags. Despite the way they look in the image, they are clear plastic.

Overkill to be sure, but gosh...they sure are nice!

I actually handled one of the Daiwa d boxes this weekend. Really nice. 😊

I saw an over-priced tackle bag (Liv Fishing) and figured there had to be something comparable on Amazon from China for 1/4th the price.  The types of containers I was looking at were clear cosmetics bags and toiletry bags.  How about something like this?

i have that missle one.  very sturdy.  overkill almost for plastics.

I use several bags from "discount online retailers". :) The sizing of the bags is A3, A4, A5, A6, etc. Oh, and to ease your search at the respective websites, do a search for "A5 PVC Clear Bag" or "A5 Mesh Bag" I prefer the A5.

Below are pictures with baits for reference. While both of these are A5, they are slightly different. The mesh is opaque, but you can still see through.

In the mesh, I have 3 bags of poop and Bellows Shad.

In the clear, I have 4 clamshell of Keitech.

Missile Bait's plastic bag is about a buck, and they are very sturdy. Fully sealed.
