Thanks for the bump.

She is in good spirits, getting radiation treatment, and still taking physical therapy.

She is hosting 22 people for Thanksgiving so she is going to have her hands full making an enormous meal.

What’s the address again? Want to make it 23!

Glad to hear she’s doing much better!

  • This thread is almost a year old now. I started it when my Mother had a catastrophic accident on the dock last season at Lake of the Woods. Broken arm, separated elbow, and stitches above one eye.

  • She is finally able to go home today.  I went to go visit her again this morning.   The pain hasn't been manageable the last couple days so she couldn't leave.  She turned a corner this morn

I think we can do it. Per the member section, it looks like @Eric 26 is around Chicago and @gim is around MN. I’ll leave N Alabama, swing by and grab Eric and meet up with Gim. Then, he can take us to his mamas house. I drive a full sized truck so if anyone is on the way, I can carry 6 total. I’d be coming up 65N to Chicago. 😂😂

@Smirak This is without a doubt the most generous offer I’ve ever received on here, and I’m seriously wondering if you’re being serious 🤔

Thanksgiving prepared by a physically-limited 67 year old mother was excellent.  Two 15 pound turkeys, 10 pounds of stuffing, green bean casserole (no thanks!), mashed potatoes/gravy, two dozen baked buns, and pumpkin pie.

She had plenty of help from relatives and family.  I did my part and ate several pounds of it.

Didn't see @Smirak or @Eric 26 there...

Green bean casserole is the worst. Pumpkin pie pretty close to it.  Pumpkin w/ chocolate chips are my favorite cookies though.  :happy-cheerleader-130:

I got caught up @gim

i sure hope you weren’t waiting with baited breath @Eric 26?

@gim Had you mentioned the green bean casserole ahead of time I not only would have showed up but I would have brought some Spotted Cow beer for you to boot😋 In all seriousness it sounds like your mom pulled through like a champ which is awesome to read.

This thread is almost a year old now. I started it when my Mother had a catastrophic accident on the dock last season at Lake of the Woods. Broken arm, separated elbow, and stitches above one eye. Lots of physical therapy.

Glad to report that her arm has fully healed. Her and my Father are also currently in first place for Team of the Year (TOY) on the state walleye circuit that they fish together in every season. I think there are 3 more events remaining, plus the championship.
