@Glenn i don’t want to come off as complaining, because I’m not, and I appreciate all the work and effort this upgrade took and am a fan overall. But I figured you’d probably want to know about any and all bugs since the new update and I haven’t seen this one mentioned.

Im typically a mobile user and it’s been working perfectly. But I just attempted to login on desktop, Google Chrome specifically, and the “Existing User? Sign-In” as well as the search bar in the upper right hand corner don’t seem to be working, preventing me from signing in. I did clear my cache a couple times as well.

Just sayin', I believe some of us older and Tech Compromised forum members are going to be left behind with the new changes.

Must be the I-Pad - Firefox/Linux it's a little less than 1/4 the width of the window.

@Jar11591 Hit Ctrl+R when you're on the page where you click to login, then login.

Yep, ads aren't resizing. I know. It's a low priority bug.

Thing is, I have a life outside of these forums, so I'm not spending all my time hunting down minor visual/design/layout issues. I'll get to them eventually.

Great Job!

Took me a minute to figure out how to change from dark to light mode but the new lay out is very nice and easy to navigate.

Well done 👍🏼

How did you do this? I can't find it on my Dell desktop.

Very bottom of the page, lower left just above the “contact us”….three icons; bulb (bright ) half moon (dark w/ white lettering and split circle ( dark mode)

Thanks man!!! I 'might' have one day stumbled on to it.

Unless I'm crazy, the process of adding an image has changed.

Pretty sure before you could add an image by pasting the image address.

Has this changed? I don't see it.

Thanks

Aren't we all just a little off...

I think you have to use the link attachment in the tool bar at the top of your reply window.

Yeah I just tried it, doesn't seem to work.

Another HUGE improvement here would be to add a delete button.

So after failing to add a picture, I could simply DELETE this post.

Test - you have to right click on the image you want to post and choose copy image. Then click into the body of your post window and click paste.

You can still do that. The embed feature now asks if you want the image or link when you post a URL, so be sure to select the option you want.

Copy-n-paste works as well as dragging and dropping in the area at the bottom of the editor when you're creating a post.

Yes, established members can delete/edit posts, but only immediately after posting. If you delay, then it's permanent. If you're new, you can't delete/edit. It's been that way for at least a decade. It's amazing how much more civil people became when I implemented that feature.

^^^^^^ BOOOOOM she works. Thanks!

Is it just me or is the Flea Market grayed out for others? Meaning you have to sign in to view it. Started yesterday. I do have an error code but maybe it's just the code for not being signed in?

It's only viewable by logged in, established members now. The reason is because we continue to get scammers targeting members in the Flea Market using this method. It happened yet again 2 days ago despite introducing several less-invasive measures over the past year designed to discourage them. So I had to make a change.

If you're a logged-in, established member. You won't notice anything different. Non-logged in members, and new members - even if logged in - will not have access.

The search function isn't working for me. Anyone else? I did just clear my cache before posting. It didn't seem to help.

Ugh... never mind. It works on the phone. Maybe need a browser update.

Thanks for making my brain work @A-Jay

Haven’t been able to login on desktop Chrome since the update. The login button doesn’t function. That’s the only issue I’m still having. But I’m rarely on desktop anyway.

The problem is that you're running a very outdated version of Chrome (Chrome 128.0.0.0).

I would suggest upgrading as the latest Chrome for Windows is 146.0.7680.80

@Jar11591 You're running Chrome 109.0.0.0 You need to update too.

I'm going to close this thread now because the updated forums were released months ago and there are no further issues.

In addition - and I cannot say this enough to everyone - as soon as you think something is wrong with the forums, assume it's something with your system. An outdated browser in this instance, but it could be anti-virus software, VPN, cache, and a host of other things on your local device.
