Nice seat, love it when I find deals. It saved you some money, plus an upgrade to your boat.

Yes they have. But for some reason everyone flips out about it lol. I get it rots eventually if not properly maintained. And it can be heavy. But still

Thank you. And exactly that’s how I’ve been trying to do this whole project

I'm just now seeing this, but it's looking good @Joedodge!

Also gotta make a new board to cover the back compartment. There is that giant rectangle hole in it because the gas can they had was to tall and poked out the top. I only have a 3 gallon and it sits well below flush.

definitely don’t plan on doing this project this evening. Went out to tinker with the boat. The gas can built pressure and blew the primer/fuel

Jose off and blew about a gallon or gallon and a half of gas all over the bottom of the boat under the floors. Spent a while pouring water in up front and washing it out into a tub. I noticed something wrong as soon as I lifted the cover. I’m glad I came out to tinker. What a dang mess. Back of the boats cleaner than ever. Washed all the paint right off lol. Hopefully the boat doesn’t leak now haha

Dang that’s not good.

Did the cap not vent or do you have an epa tank?

I loosen the cap a tad an unplug the fuel line from the motor now.

Once I had the pressure built up, pushed past the float and severally flood engine.

Hose was off the motor but still on the can. I left the vent closed. I probably should have left it cracked but I didn’t want fumes or smell to build up under the cover my own stupid fault. I’m

So mad lol

But how can ya not laugh. Lesson learned

Amazon had a deal so I upgraded the battery for my graph. Amazon had a deal for $29 for a 2 pack of lifep04 lithium 8amp hour battery’s. So I snagged it. Little bit better than my 5 amp hour Milwaukee 12 volt battery’s. And it still fits in my battery box under the bow cap.

Yeah, for $30 you’re getting 16 ah. That’s tough to beat.

That was my thoughts. I was making it a 4 hour trip on the Milwaukee battery’s and wasn’t even at half charge when I hit home so this will be perfect for any amount of time I may be out. And the connection is a lot better

No real changes to the tin rig. Planning to refresh the black paint inside the boat and replace the old green carpet with brown carpet this winter. ( I like the old school colors) motor could use new fuel lines and clamps they are stiff as a board. When I do those I’ll throw plugs and a fuel pump on it too. And change the lower unit oil when I winterize it. I considered painting the outside of the boat but honestly don’t think I care that much how the outside looks. I can’t see it from the inside fishing lol. But it’s getting me on a lot of fish. Here’s a pic from Saturday morning just because.

I did the same thing, every so often, along with regular maintenance. I would redo something else. I kept mine as simple as could be, didn’t want to have a bunch of bells and whistles. I wanted less stuff to break.

Exactly I wana be able to enjoy fishing. Not constantly fix something. I can have this thing uncovered and hooked to the truck and battery and gas tank put in. In about 10 mins and off to the lake. It doesn’t need buffed. Polished, scrubbed any of that. It’s just pure enjoyment.

I like the way you fish, Joe. Simple. Easy. No fuss.

Had some time this evening and was bored. The original paint on the cowl was awful looking and lettering missing and the paint was chalky. Someone tried painting it once you could see the over spray on the seal. So I sanded it down and cleaned everything up and painted it black. That’s gotta be worth atleast 3hp lol.
