Which baitcasters do you own

Featured Replies

I use my curado's most of the time, with a few citica's in there.

Have:  Revo S, Revo Premier, TDZ-BBS, 50MG's (5), Core,  Abu 4600

Still have but don't use: Abu 4600's (8?), 5500's (3), and a few other old Abu's.

Don't like the TDZ-BBS at all.  It was a huge disappointment and a giant wasted of money.  The only 2 positives about the BBS are weight and looks.

If it helps in crunching your data, I replaced the Abu's I was using with 50MG's, because I like the lighter weight and had the money, not because the 4600's weren't good reels.  (but the 50's are much nicer!  ...lol)

Man, I have 7 baitcast combos, but none on the list... I feel so inadequate... it's a wonder I catch fish at all. Lookin' to set up a bait monkey outlet LBH (Abu Garcia's are the best selling reels, followed by Shimano)?

Citica 100dsv

Citica 200d

Citica 200dpv

I have an Revo S but getting rid of it shortly.

Love the Shimanos so much that I'm going all Shimano. :)

Can I be part of the posse now lol.

The Revo Premier and Daiwa Sol are at the same price point (within $10) as the Cronarch 50Mg. I don't have any reels on the list, so I'm no help here.

wow 209 votes and 24% are for the new Revo how long has the new curado been out ??no wonder they are doing a makeover :) and this can mean a lot considering there are more choices for curados then revos  .there are 5 kinds of revos all based on the same size frame  BUT what matters  in 2008  is material differances, price points, bearin count  etc etc , all the way from Joe public to skeet reese  YEEEEEEEHAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW    ABU FOR LIFE!!!!!!!

Hey Chaddy : Don't worry about zipping your lip. Concieted Redneck wins the BS'er of the century award and then some. I bet he even owns all those reels or has at least borrowed one from a friend for an hour. ;D

Curado, Energy, and an Accurist. Honestly, my favorite out of the three is probably the Accurist, just seems most versatile to me.

Reels I have that you asked about:

1- Revo SX

2- Revo SC

3- Daiwa TD Pro

All very good reels, would recommend any of them.

Falcon

Revo S-L, Curado 200B to be retired due to RH orientation

Of those listed.  Revo Premier and Revo STX.  I had a Quantum Energy PT but the Revos didn't want it hanging on the rack with them.

The ones I own are:

Abu Revo SC

Shimano Chronarch SF

Shimano Calais 200

Shimano Calais 100

Shimano Calcutta TE-100 GT

Shimano Metanium XT

Lew's BB-1

2 Daiwa TDZ 103

1 Abu Garcia XLT Plus

1 Shimano Chronarch SF

1 Shimano Curado 200

1 Shimano Curado 200 B38

There are a lot of Shimanos to choose from and as Alpster pointed out, Chronarchs are not on the list. (Calcutta series didn't make the list, either.)

Shimano:

Calais CL200

(2) CTE200GT

Chronach

Metanium

Abu Garcia:

Revo STX

8-)

Well, the Revo (any) includes the S, SX, STX, and Premier which spans a price range of about $100 to $250.  For a true comparison the Citica and Curado should be added together and the Chronarch should also be included to match up with the Premier.

But, if you just add the Citica to the Curado you have more Shimano's than Revo's.   :o

citica & revo inshore.

Are the inshore models built differently, with different materials, to inhibit salt water corrosion?

Quantum for me. Have 3 accurist but replacing them with Tours and Energies.

All Quantums here. Mainly the Accurist but just picked up my 3rd Energy PT and LOVE it!!!!!!!

Shimano's, Quantum's, Garcia's..... :)
