I'm looking for a rod to throw texas rigs, jigs, and possibly carolina rigs on, but I don't have a whole lot of money. Anybody have suggestions for the $100-$150 range? Thanks!

Market for $105. With a little patience, you could

buy one inside your budget.

I specifically recommend the AVC68MXF, but either

AVC70MF or AVC70MHF would be just fine. For just

a few dollars more, I suggest G. Loomis IMX MBR844C.

With your budget I would go with a Falcon Lowrider.

704 Powell Max, Kistler Magnesium, or Dobyns Savvy.  These three rods are very similar and are great rods for contact baits.  I have the Dobyns and Kistler and a buddy has two of the Powells, if you have a chance to handle them, you'll see that the all feel alike but just a bit different.

A Fenwick Techna AV can be had in that range right now. Even saw a few for $99 this week. Check Google.

I've got two There are usually some available in the $100 range from reputable sellers on eBay. The bad news about the Techna AV - If you dodn't feel the bite you can't blame the rod (look at the bait placement )

Roadwarrior sure loves his Avids. Gotta admit they are nice rods though. ;D

They are goods rods sensitive and light but retail price is out of his range at $175..you can find good deals but they are snatched up fast.

I have been out a couple times now with my Kistler Mag. Ts's and have been pleasently surprised with them. Much better than the Fenwick HMX's I replaced, and better than the Mojo's I have. I would say they are just a touch below my Avid's, but not much, and for the $$ are a nice rod.

I bought the avid. I'm hoping I'll have a good time with it. 105 was not a bad deal at all. I've got an IMX in MH 7'1. I'm guessing they'll be relative to each other.

Probably use one for flippn n the other for spinnerbait. we'll have to test it out though. excited..
