I'm not entirely sure, but I think it is a DIY carbon handle.  I bought it from a forum member a few months ago.  It fits the Conquest great as far as clearing the drag star.

Have not fished the Scorpion yet, but I will in about an hour. I'll try to remember to give a report on any differences I notice between the two. The Curado feels great, already has me thinking about picking up another one. The 50s were too small for me, my hands would end up hurting by the end of the day. These 70s fit in my hands perfect and hold about the perfect amount of line for bass fishing. They're obviously different retrieve speeds and will be used for different techniques though.

Yeah let us know. Haven't really seen any side by side comparisons. Would love to know. Have the Scorps on pre order (lefty) but debating if I should just order a Curado now instead??? Lol

I couldn't wait and pulled a trigger yesterday for a 70 XG.  I figure I'll get the Scorpion down the road when it dies down in demand?.  Although I haven't put the new reel to the test but they feel great and already feel like getting another one.  

Mail lady was good to me yesterday!

Got my Recon 2 683c I got from the auction site (mint condition).  Then i got my used, but mint, Yumeya BFS MG 32MM spool for the Curado 51e.  My new finesse casting rig!  Yard casts were very nice!

however due to some confusion on the boca order and me not paying attention I do have 6 lightning abec 5s in this. 2 each handle 2 level wind.

So you guys inspired me or was it peer pressure?  I finally did it.  Not only did I finally bought a Metanium, I jumped in with both feet.  Bought an HG and XG! And I also bought my first Curado 200 I (HG) and a Curado 70 (XG).  I put them on (temporarily) my new travel rod BPS Extreme MH/F 6'6" and I bought a new beater rod 2 PC 6'6 M/F Fenwick Eagle for my trip to Florida at the end of April.  (My wife won't let me bring my rods in the jeep for the drive.)  Now the problem I have is, I have 4 reels that need a new home.

Any reason u bought the 13 Mentaniums instead of the 16's?

Yeah that's a good price, I've been getting them from $284 to $320. I haven't been buying the 16's because there not available in LH yet. Drives me crazy lol. The 16's have been going for around $320 basically the same price. Which makes buying the 13's even harder to swallow for me.

I like bocas but man their site can be confusing.  That type r is super solid.  Kind of wish I kept it instead of selling it.  I replaced it with a exsence DC for my frog reel.
