Cabela's had an in store sale on them while supplies lasted.  They had several of each gear ratio (5.3, 6.6, and 7.3).  I picked up a 6.6. There were guys walking out with multiple reels (one guy bought 6 of them).  I couldn't pass up this deal.

^^ Looks good! But for the cost of those parts you could have bought a 2nd Met!. But I shouldn't be one to talk.

I wonder how much better that feel is with those parts compared to a stock one

The most noticeable as far as performance was the lightweight shallow spool.  It casts even better all around and really handles the light stuff 1/4oz and bellow even better than it did stock.  I also like the feel of the offset handle and big EVA knobs.  The rest is pretty much eye candy.  The upgrades were costly, but I don't regret it.  It made it uniquily mine, and the performance with that spool is off the chart.

It's gorgeous..... I have a turbo Honda so I've been a jdm ***** for years ... Fishing reels are nothing compared to front ends and engines lol

Haha...I know that game, but I am usdm, or actually ADM.  My built 2004 gto is ironically a Australian built Holden rebadged.  The LS1 engine parts aren't bad but all the Australian suspension/rear end parts are outrageous.

Thanks for the compliment on the reel.  The upside is it performs as good as it looks.

My friend at work has one he just blew his motor and is going ls3 now .... But he's got the full Holden conversion

A lot of u guys are always putting the shallow spools on and I'm the complete opposite, I'm always wanting a deeper spool. Not one for every Mentanium I have on its way but for ones I wanna throw 20-25lb fluro on. Anyone know roughly how much 20-22-25lb fluro u can get on the stock Metanium spool?

Was looking at the new 16 Shimano Stile, why did Shimano put such a shallow spool on a 5.8 reel? I don't know anyone including myself that uses braid to throw CB's. Does anyone know if someone makes a deep spool for the Aldebaran? I'm thinking these 2 reels run the same spool?

It's a finesse reel, holds the perfect amount of 8-12lb mono.

It's meant to be used with 8 strand braid, which is thin but very powerful. It is used for inshore and boat fishing for breams.

I went way overboard.. already had too many but just added a zillion and a mgx....

my two fav reels i have are the mgx and curado 300e... 2 fav rod is the carrot stix and its a awesome rod... duckett white ice terry scroggins model..very light and casts a long ways..

I feel your pain man.  I am a fellow Lefty that would love to be snagging up a 16 to compare to my 13 with a Microcast shallow spool.  I have mine on a NRX also...a 803C JWR.  It is a phenomenal combo...as good as you can get.  What is yours going on?

I'm picking up more than one rod, and I'm gonna need to pu more than one 16.

what brand of fluoro?  the line diameter differs greatly from one brand to another.

I can't give you the exact amount, but I can not imagine it not being enough.  I find that more than ~65 yards is a waste.  I never get to the rest of the spool before I want to change the line.

Two of the newest additions to my lineup. Also picked up a Casitas 150 for my jerkbait rod.
