Hey guys, I have a question and need some educating.  When you say fish deep points in 20-25 ft. of water are you talking about the actual point like the blue in this pic or the white flat around the point?  I have not been able to find an actual point that is that deep but the water around the point will be.  I hope this makes sense.  Thanks.

I'm not sure but here is a point and or hump that's 24' deep in the mouth of Housen. 

A point can extend off the shoreline or be completely underwater!

I meant I wasn't sure how to answer his question. I'm still struggling in the depths. Any advice on the spots we showed?

I  have a navionics chip in my hook 7. I can see the creeks and ridges but still struggle with identifying fish. I have never seen the big schools on my hook like posted on some sites. Any comments you have or suggestions would surly help.

I never have either, but it is probably because I have never been around any fish.

Zack is a good friend of mine. He I said good. I also do some electronic training on the water. But what I look for is a point extending out to the desired depth that the fish are holding. Most of the time, they will be set up on the steeper side of the point where they can have quick access to deep water. I'm not fishing the flat around the point, I'm fishing on the tip of the point and the drop off into deep water. My boat may be sitting in 30' and I'm casting into 15' dragging down the drop off.

Interesting.  What units do you run?

I fish Toledo no depth finder usually. I usually stay in Indian Creek. Which means I need to get up there and check it out soon. Getting that time of year. Had to run to many for work but unfortunately my boss said me going to take a look at Toledo is a waste of company resources cause I was in the work truck. Pshhhhhhh

Zack is really good. I met him on a trip to learn dropshotting. My place on Toledo is between Zacks place and shadows launch

I recently (1/27/18) stumbled across this forum and must say it is awesome. Most information I have ever come across for Toledo Bend. I'm only on page 5 of the thread so it will take me some time to catch up with all of your advice and suggestions. Thanks to all of you for sharing your knowledge of the lake. I only get to fish there once or twice a year so I try to make the best of it when I am able to go. Thanks again to all of you who share information with others.

Gotcha. We are clearing some land not far from Shadows and building a camp. If anyone know anyone looking for waterfront lots, let me know.
