Had 30lbs today and my dad had 14lbs in our club tournament. Our best 5 combined was 33lbs. I had 3 fish between 7- 10lbs jump off. My big fish i caught was 9.5lbs.  Lots of tournaments coming up, but

  • Well two days in & only 3 fish ?   But one was tagged BassCashBash which I was registered in, it won me a 2019 Dodge Ram!

I thought it would be appropriate to bump this thread after hearing the bad news of @Catt's passing.  I don't fish Toledo Bend but this is a very interesting read for anyone.  I know Tommy took a lot

There's something about that Pond!  ?

Bassmaster has a tournament going on right now...I'd pay attention to the results!

Bassmaster will interview the top anglers who will divulge where (shallow or deep) & on what.

In 3 weeks you can definitely look shallower!

I will absolutely be there the week after you. ?

I picked the week of the 17-24.......cause it was week of the full moon. No other reason

@Skeeterzx2001 Although you can launch anywhere I would launch on the Louisiana side. No since in spending the time driving around to the Texas side when that time can be spent fishing.

Right now fishing is scattered with no solid pattern emerging anywhere...yet!

Do you have any experience with the lake at all?

We fished Saturday morning and Sunday morning, but our options were limited because of engine trouble (boat is now at the shop...damnit), we caught 2 fish .  The water was very stained and we could only find a few suspended fish and those we did find were scattered, the only thing we got bit on was Strike King, white, swimbait. In 20 - 15 ft. of water retrieving it slow 5' off the bottom.

been to lanana once and to mills creek once.

1215 area outside of San Miguel is always good this time of year but everybody & their brother will be there.

I would probably look at La Nana for that very reason.

As to where to launch I'll defer to @A5BLASTER & others who live in that area.

Tranquillity Bay would be the launch to use. The launch by the 191 bridge has been closed since the money box was stolen. Two weeks ago it was still closed. Tranquility Bay is on hwy1215.

How sad!

People like that need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!

That is where I would launch.  There are probably some shallow fish to be caught in hurricane.  Hell, don't be afraid go all the way to the back under the bridge.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. No need too talk about under bridge lol. No fish back there it's a gar hole, no bass, wouldn't waist my time throwing a fire tiger spinnerbait back there for bass, it's a complete waist of time lol.

Everything is good except the weather.  My dad is heading up there right now.

OK so tranquility bay or lanan is where I should go is what yall are saying. Also im not familiar with the names like

hurricane creek where is that. Are there plenty of bushes there with enough water in them to fish. I will be there on

the 9th. What does the water level have to be for there to be water in them so I can monitor it

170 too pool level are higher is enough to find fish in the brush on San Miguel.

Any info on good places in negreet or bushes to fish also just had a buddy of mine said they should be in there also

by time I get there on the 9th. If so does it have grass or what kind of structure to fish

I wouldn't corner myself in too hopeing to fish only brush and shallow grass when you come up.

This time of year the weather is too unpredictable to say if they will be up in the brush and shallow grass on the 9th.

They could be are a big front might hit on the 7th and drive the water temp back down into the low 50's and they will move back out too deeper water.

Best to make plan's on what too fish the night before or day that you arrive. The weather is going too be back and forth right now.

Plus it is March you can expect very high winds.
