I assume the 3121 bridge is the one that crosses palo gaucho. If so you mean past the bridge like towards the back or towards the main lake

Thanks

Yes sir!

Definitely towards the back ?

Had 30lbs today and my dad had 14lbs in our club tournament. Our best 5 combined was 33lbs. I had 3 fish between 7- 10lbs jump off. My big fish i caught was 9.5lbs.  Lots of tournaments coming up, but

  • Well two days in & only 3 fish ?   But one was tagged BassCashBash which I was registered in, it won me a 2019 Dodge Ram!

I thought it would be appropriate to bump this thread after hearing the bad news of @Catt's passing.  I don't fish Toledo Bend but this is a very interesting read for anyone.  I know Tommy took a lot

Not going to say I put the whupin on them in fact I only found one legal keeper.

But I did find 15 in less then a hour this evening.

Every bass came from less then a foot of water up in the grass.

Pic is the only legal keeper of the 15

59* water today?  Dang.

Yep along a back that gets hit by sunlight nearly from sun up to sun down.

Boat was over the creek channel leading into the cove and it runs about 30 feet out from the bank in that cove.

You can see the fish were stacked up in the creek channel. But I couldn't make them bite anything. Catfish or slabs maybe?

So I started throwing up too the grass and started catching them up in the grass in less then a foot of water.

Thanks for the report Blaster. I'll be headed up either Saturday or Sunday for a week. Do you live on the same side of San Miguel that Amateur Hour has his camp or are you on the Carter's Ferry side?

Same side as AH. I'm right behind Gracies landing.

We haven't got bit in 10 hours of fishing over the last couple days. We've tried everything from 2ft to 30ft. This is the south end of the lake though, @A5BLASTER what part of the lake are you on? Not looking for secrets, just a general area. The water has been 53ish degrees here.

Same place I always am. San Miguel.

Don't feel bad I just came off the water bout 30 mints ago, had 4 bites all day. If I added all 4 bass together they would have had a hard time making 2 pounds.

Not sure what happened from yesterday to today but it was dead out there today.

But they will be back soon I'm sure.

I fished Six Mile today. Caught about 30 in 15-18’.  Had 2 pretty good ones, between 4-5lbs.  Creek bends are key!

We ended up with 2 today, both on a Big Bite Baits Pro Swimmer on an Owner flashy swimmer (what a mouthful) in around 5ft on the outside edge of the hay grass in six mile. Biggest was over 3lbs, so it could have been worse. Couldn't get the deep ones to bite, as usual.

Wind was blowing so bad, I didn't even try and go look for a diffrent bite. My boat just ain't setup to handle fishing deeper water and high winds. Loses control to easy and I end up fighting the trolling motor more then fishing.

So I just stayed on what I was throwing and enjoyed what I did catch.

Caught 8 today, most on the Pro Swimmer + underspin again. Right as the action is heating up I have to head back to Georgia in the morning... It was fun while it lasted.

Lmao. You not taking that midnight train or you. Lmao.

Thanks for the report. Did you happen to catch the water temp?

Well, we just got back from another disappointing trip.  We found nothing deep so went super shallow to catch a few.  Thanks to both blaster and Ronnie to help salvage a trip.  Be back up there in two weeks and I will go join the party south.  The struggle is real y’all.

Fished Wednesday through Saturday. Just a few short fish. No keepers. Tough trip.

Really just wanted to give a plug to mid lake marine. Cranking battery went out Friday am. Called mid lake before 730 in the morning and "Don" answered to let us know they were open. He was very knowledgeable and got us hooked up in just a few mins. If you have a battery issue, I would recommend them.

We saw everything from 54 to 60 throughout the day

I seen even warmer water then that yesterday.

I sure wish SRA would leave the water level alone, every time they here we might get a drop of rain, they drop the lake 6 inches.

I'll be there Wed. - Sun. Kinna looks like I'm gonna spend a fair amount of time in Caney/Pirates Cove judging by the weather forecast... If not then I'll treck a lil' further north.

In that area spinnerbait & weightless Senko ?

Yuppers.... gonna try those plus A-rig and 1/4-SOD! Thanks!

I will be back up Thursday for the week plus a couple of day. Will be in the south end, if you see a white over red bayboat say hello!
