Yuppers.... gonna try those plus A-rig and 1/4-SOD! Thanks!

I hear the 1/4-SOD can be loud if it does not have enough weight to get to the bottom

Had 30lbs today and my dad had 14lbs in our club tournament. Our best 5 combined was 33lbs. I had 3 fish between 7- 10lbs jump off. My big fish i caught was 9.5lbs.  Lots of tournaments coming up, but

  • Well two days in & only 3 fish ?   But one was tagged BassCashBash which I was registered in, it won me a 2019 Dodge Ram!

I thought it would be appropriate to bump this thread after hearing the bad news of @Catt's passing.  I don't fish Toledo Bend but this is a very interesting read for anyone.  I know Tommy took a lot

Yes’er that’s correct! I prefer casting a 18” cinder block w/HD Flipping stick. But the real key is using 20# fluorocarbon - helps get the cinder block to the bottom don’t’cha’ know!!!

@A5BLASTER what's the weather doing?  ?

It was 71° at 4 o'clock this morning, a minor front blew through with rain but it was gone by 10 o'clock. It's sunny with light winds!

Don’t know where your are but.... at the army ramp it’s partly cloudy n’ 74 degrees w/ gentle breeze blowing @ 2:30pm. But... fish ain’t biting(for me). Now that’s not to say they weren’t biting before the front blew through. Smoked’em early and shallow. How shallow? Boat was in 2.5 fow an I was chunking shallow. Can’t give away too much as I have 2 - 1 day tournaments this weekend. Biggest was ~4#’s. Best 5 maybe 15#’s. Don’t sound like much but... for this blind squirrel it was a pretty tasty nut.

Sunshine coming and going. Meduim winds blowing from the west. Finder says main water is 63 degrees.

This is all within 1/2 mile of my house.

Finding a few fish, no size but good soild aggressive bites.

Got to the lake about 5pm Thursday, unloaded and headed out. Fishing shallow, caught quite a few small spots (13-1/2") and 2 decent LM 15-3/4" and a 17". All on soft plastic, fluke and senko, watermelon red and green pumpkin w/blue flake. Did not fish this morning, working from home :). Water was 61.2 to 62.3.

Just hope this wind will lay a little, 14mph at the camp translates to 20-25 on the lake :). They should be settled down by Monday. Tight Lines @Catt

No rain & no wind ?

Didn’t get many bites today, but did get some good bites.  Had at least 4 bites over 5lbs and lost another real big one we didn’t see. Also caught one really good one. I’ll try and get a pic up later. Fish seem to be moving up

@Bass_Fanatic Shallow or deep & on what ?

The big one was deep on a Carolina rig. She was spawned out or she would have went over 10lbs easily. The rest were shallow, but not on the banks

Nice fish Bass_Fanatic.

I’ve spent the week up here - Six Mile, Hickory Ridge and Mill Creek. I found a large number of small fish (mostly spots) offshore but could not find a consistent pattern for a shallow bite.

With that said, the shallow fish that I did locate were good ones.  My bites came on a 4.8 inch Keitech (Sight Flash which is white/silver) fished on a 5/0 Owner Flashy underspin. The bite was very subtle which resulted in a couple of missed fish too.  Interesting that I didn’t get a bite on the swim bait that was less than 2 lbs and I didn’t get any bites in the back half of any coves.

It it should be even better next week. Good luck to everyone.

One more wake-up call ?

Sadly to say but it's been almost a year since I've seen the Big Pond. That's the worst record in the history of Catt!

Seen your post on Toledo bend reports as well.

Visiting Toledo Bend last week in April. My first time fishing the lake! Will be fishing the far south part of the lake as we are staying at South Toledo Bend park. This forum has tons of great info. Any tips on where to fish down there? and maybe top 3 baits and colors to throw in that area late April. Thanks guys!

Also if your ever in Austin, TX (where I am from) please visit austinbassfishingforum so I can offer some tips and return the favor!
